You have no right Carlin my ancestors were born here. Mohawk and Cree and Ojibwe. With a name like Carlin you weren't born here. So I have more rights than you do. So sure it's a big club but you and your people aren't included.
I could see if the first nations had a right but they don't. They lost the Indian wars and were put on reservations. So where is their right to land they have not lived on for centuries. It's just a land grab.
At the very least this will destroy BC. If people can’t rely on ownership of property that they have paid for and need for retirement they will not buy nor will anyone invest or be able to sell. Millions will be bankrupt. This will then lead to a bankrupt country as we can not pay the amount of money that will be demanded from the First Nations. That was end Canada.
Can it really be a land grab, in a country were you legally can't truly own land, and in which there are no inalienable property rights? And it's not like it was a secret that the land was stolen.
What also needs to be noted, is that legally-speaking absolutely nothing has been done to the relevant parties in Richmond. Technically, the only thing that has happened is the kleptomaniac absentee "King of Canada" had to give back a tiny fraction of 1% of the land his family stole, back to its rightful owners!
This being Canada, we all know how this is going to play out the "King of Canada" will apologize for his families theft, and we the People, will get stuck paying the bill!
Just like it was with the residential schools; the innocent people paying the bill, either via taxation or inflation, for the atrocities of the royal family, done by the hands of the Anglican and Catholic churches. This is the cost of not living in a sovereign nation. We all mistake the Canadian government as our government; it's not. The government by definition is The King in right of Canada.
It's a big club, and you're not in it. (RIP Carlin) 🇨🇦
This land doesn’t belong to the First Nations. If they walked here first okay, but that doesn’t mean you get squatters rights. Generations have been here now, so now we have squatters rights.
