The Bible is filled with hate speech. Actually Jesus is on record as saying:

English Standard Version

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.(Luke 14:26)

Jesus also said “ and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

“God is Spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Jesus also “ God did not send His [Spirit and Truth]into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

Now you could say I’m guilty of cherry picking. And you’d be right. The point I’m trying to make here is that stifling hate and condemning others for stifling or promoting hate …is dangerous.

Nobody should be condemned or put in prison for hating or condemning someone or for truly loving someone one.

I’ve heard you quote Niven Postma as saying “if you don’t do politics, politics will do you! “The golden rule however says this a little differently. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

I haven’t read Niven’s book. The cover info sounds promising.. She may just be the very wise person we need to take a lesson or two from who knows how to do onto others so they don’t imprison us or stifle our spirit or silence us to keep company overlords ruling over us instead of with us!

This is true! Those with opinions following their faith, the flood gates will be opened to legally attack and charge them. The Scotland precedent where they are reporting the left, including their First Minister, for hate speech may be the only option. this bill is dangerous and is designed to cause more division and to get neighbours to turn on neighbours in person and online.
