Am I exaggerating?

Is this sheer hyperbole?

No. Absolutely not.

The evidence is overwhelming.

The signs are everywhere.

The indications are overpowering.

Prime Minister Mark Carney wants to sever our relationship with the United States that has anchored Canada to economic prosperity, military stability and political freedom since the end of the Second World War.

That’s why Carney sabotaged the trade deal with the US and then lied about who was responsible; he manufactured a lot of nonsense about President Donald Trump demanding control over Canada’s sovereignty and wanting to undermine Quebec culture. It was all a pack of lies and in reality, as chief trade negotiator Jamieson Greer, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent have repeatedly said, Canada was offered a great deal but walked away from it.

Why? Because Carney wants a New World Order with China.

Within days of the learning that the deal had collapsed, Carney was announcing that another acolyte of China, Dominic Barton, had been appointed to head the Invest in Canada federal bureaucracy. Barton is a former ambassador to Beijing and another huge fan of the Chinese system.

Previously, we found out that there is a secret police deal in the so-called trade deal Carney announced. Now we learn — from foreign media — that Canada is now in talks with the Chinese military.

Liberals have an almost legendary history of praising China’s communist dictatorship. This also goes back to Canada’s earlier Trudeau — Pierre Elliott Trudeau. In 1973, former Prime Minister Trudeau Sr. said of China:

“... their genius in creating a system that, in comparison with all previous Chinese social systems, is striving to provide human dignity and equality of opportunity for the Chinese people.”

Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, PET’s son, infamously told a fundraiser in 2013:

“There’s a level of admiration I actually have for China because their basic dictatorship is allowing them to actually turn their economy around on a dime and say we need to go green, we need to start, you know, investing in solar. There is a flexibility that I know Stephen Harper must dream about: having a dictatorship where you can do whatever you wanted, that I find quite interesting.”

Even former Finance Minister Chrystia Feeland, who used to work as a journalist back in the day, was instructed by famous progressive George Soros in 2009 about the need to make China pre-dominate in a “new world order”.

So, what is emerging now is a clear picture of Carney, and globalist Liberals just like him, continuing to enthusiastically advocate for communist China.

Even though many things have changed, Carney’s own devotion has not wavered, he is such a vociferous advocate should we be questioning if Carney has been placed as a Manchurian candidate?

If you aren’t sure what a Manchurian candidate is, see the film of the film of the same name about how American GIs in Korea were brainwashed and subverted by Chinese agents and returned to the United States to work for China — for the purpose of assassination.

In the past Carney as a climate so-called “expert” for the United Nations Special Envoy for Climate Change and co-chair of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), Carney actually expressed optimism that China – with all of its coal consumption and production of gas-guzzling automobiles – could be a world leader on green energy and net zero.

“China has made a huge contribution to the fight against climate change, not only in terms of its massive investment in clean technologies and exporting them to other countries, but also in actively developing the financial system needed for the green transition,” he said.

The US House Judiciary Committee called GFANZ a “climate cartel” in one of two blistering 2024 reports, because of its attempts to impose a globalist net zero agenda on corporations around the world.

“The climate cartel has declared war on the American way of life. The climate cartel is waging a ‘Global World War’ for net zero against disfavored American companies, including those in the fossil fuel, aviation and farming industries that allow Americans to drive, fly and eat,” declared the committee’s report.

Not as well known is that Mark Carney is wildly supportive of replacing the U.S. dollar as the world currency of choice with the Chinese yuan, or renminbi. On March 10, 2024 Carney said at a conference in China (21st Century Business Herald):

“I have been arguing for many years that it would be more beneficial for the global system if our reserve currency system could be richer and more accurately reflect the weight of the Chinese economy in the global economy, given the rise of the Chinese economy.”

China has been interfering in Canada’s political system for years and this has been documented by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. There has been little or no interest in actually addressing this meddling. China operated — and possibly continues to still operate — Chinese “police” stations in Canada that target dissidents living here who have escaped the clutches of the communists. The RCMP initially denied such facilities existed and then claimed they had shut them all down — closed offices that weren’t supposed to be there at all.

The decrepit and delusional Boomers who have proven to be Carney’s most solid and dependable allies seem absolutely oblivious to the man they were so instrumental in electing as prime minister. Do they really understand that this is a man who wants to forge a New World Order with China even as he mimics the horrifying censorship and tawdry surveillance policies of that communist country?

According to a recent report, Canada is being used as a “transshipment” hub by Chinese companies to access and use our lower tariff rates. The USA released this report tracking Canada as one of the worst perpetrators. This was one of the behind the scenes biggest American points of contention with the trade deal.

Trump does not want the Chinese EVs imported into Canada, and clearly said so as far back as January 2026, at the time of the Carney “new world order” announcement, Trump said:

“if Carney “thinks he is going to make Canada a ‘Drop Off Port’ for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken.””

On page 9 of the report, Canada is listed as a Transshipment:

“Tier 1 Diversified Scale Leaders Large absolute volumes of China linked goods; diversified industrial bases and major U.S.-bound export platforms where transshipment risk is embedded within broad legitimate trade flows.”

THIS is why Canada is giving China half of its EV market, to allow this sort of “smuggling” allowing Canada to be used as a base for the Chinese to access the American markets.

Steel is another example of transshipment contnetion. According to the New York Times:

“…China’s steel and aluminum exports are on the rise because its economy is struggling, sapping domestic demand. Many of these low-cost exports have gone to American allies like Canada and Mexico, which in turn export significant shares of their own more expensive output to the United States.”

Canada, of course, claims this is mostly not happening.

But when researched, we found it is happening and Canadian companies have paid fines for this sort of devious dumping of Chinese steel into the USA. According to the Financial Post in May 2026:

“Two Canadian steel companies and one of their part owners agreed to pay US$19 million as part of a settlement with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) that they illegally circumvented duties on steel from China, Indonesia, Italy, Turkey and Vietnam.”

Ironically, one of the companies that the USA says is allowing itself to be used by China to send inferior steel into the USA under the Canadian tariff banner — is named Royal Canadian Steel Inc.”.

So why are some online influencers, including former Permier Jason Kenney, claiming criticism of Carney is unpatriotic? That we must ALSO oppose a trade deal with the USA to remain in synch with our duty as conservative Canadians? They also protest when Americans point out to “CCP Carney” Canada’s lack of trade leverage due to our greatly declining GDP.

But are Americans just telling the truth and this is why it hurts so much?

How do they not know that Carney travels around the world on trade missions not to make “Canada strong” but to facilitate better business for Brookfield, the company where Carney presided as chairman of the board?

How do they not know that Brookfield is the biggest company tax dodger in Canada sheltering their profits in offshore havens? Do they know that Carney will come looking to tax their home equity next?

Even if they know, it probably wouldn’t make any difference to them.

Carney is their man and they swear by him.

Those of us who are increasingly the victims of his oppression are more inclined to swear at him.

Prime Minister Carney just won three byelection seats on Monday night.

Is this an indication that Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre should step down and be replaced by another Red Tory who will take the party to the left again?

Well, obviously not.

That’s precisely what the Carney Liberals and their paid opposition want. It’s what the mainstream media continues to suggest is a fait d’accompli.

No, far from it.

Why aren’t the media demanding to know what was in this failed trade deal? Why are they not asking, “Where’s Mark Carney.” After he declared that Canada was “at war” with the US, he vanished from sight. He has not responded to Poilievre’s request to reconvene Parliament to discuss the consequences of that failed trade deal. He has not released any of the details that Poilievre has every right to see. Carney has stood by his lies that he walked away from a bad deal, even if the The New York Times has revealed that it was anything but a bad deal for Canada but actually would have lowered and potentially removed tariffs on steel, aluminum and softwood lumber.

Carney scurried away from a trade deal that he never really wanted and has been hiding ever since behind a mountain of mendacity cloaked by a proliferation of prevarication. President Donald Trump had no interest in or desire to wage war on Quebec culture or to erode Canada’s official bilingualism policy – as useless and divisive as that policy remains after almost 50 years.

Carney did not want to address the transshipment scam that allows China to avoid tariffs on its steel by smuggling it through Canada as a safe conduit.

He didn’t really want to reinvigorate the Keystone XL pipeline, even if that would have meant greater prosperity for Alberta.

He wanted none of this and he continued to eschew a trade deal with the US because he dearly wants a New World Order with China.

Poilievre must stop BEGGING and he must start DEMANDING THAT Carney provide him with a full briefing of what precisely was in that trade deal and the REAL reasons that Carney opposed it. Poilievre is the leader of His Majesty’s Official Opposition and a part of the Government of Canada. Yes, that’s right. Under the Parliamentary rules of the Westminster system of government that we follow in Canada, an official opposition is integral to good governance.

I fear that Poilievre is listening to his critics who want him to be accommodating to Carney and join the provincial premiers that the prime minister has co-oped to join his Team Carney. Remember, it’s NOT Team Canada. It’s Team Carney.

We don’t need or want a trade war with the United States.

We are opposed to counter-tariffs because these will only hurt Canadians – especially if they are applied to food products. The Conservative Party recently produced a video of Poilievre making a trip to the grocery store and leaving with a small bag of goods worth $125. If counter-tariffs are applied to most or all of the produce in that bag, the cost will escalate to $225 with a 50% tariff.

This is the reality that Canadians face.

We are already going to food banks and living in tent cities.

We are grossly overtaxed and overburdened with regulations.

We are living in a censorship and surveillance state and have effectively lost our freedom of speech.

The Canada that you remember as a young man or woman is evanescent, perhaps gone forever.

Carney continues to enslave us and push this country closer into the grips of the globalists and his Chinese masters.

This is not the time for Poilievre to be the nice guy who understands the responsibilities of and demands on the prime minister. Carney is running the most corrupt government in the history of Canada and he must be held accountable for ruining the lives of millions of Canadians.

I don’t give a damn if demented Boomers continue to worship; continue to knock on thousands of doors for his candidates; continue to be profoundly dedicated acolytes for Carneyism and Carneydom.

This is the time to see a real and viable OFFICIAL OPPOSITION and not just the second largest party in the House of Commons that is willing to roll over and support anything that Carney wants, as long as he demands subservience in the name of Canadian unity.

The legacy of history and responsibility for the future rests on Poilievre’s shoulders. There is no one else in Canada’s political system who can fight Carney and the Liberals. People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier is fighting for freedom but he cannot affect the decisions of the government because his party holds not a single seat in the House. Don’t think the increasingly Bolshevik NDP care if you are taxed to death; they would do the same. Don’t rely ono the treasonous Bloc Quebecois to care if Canada lives or dies. They want this nation to perish.

I throw down the gauntlet before Poilievre and say this: Demand what isi yours by the virtue of your office and don’t let Carney get away with another scam, another diversion, another campaign of lies.

Keeping fighting for the Canadians who Carney has punished, oppressed, pummeled and enslaved.

Let us know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I believe, strongly, that Prime Minister Mark Carney is lying about why he walked away from the trade deal with the United States. He didn’t reject the offer because if was a “bad deal.” His decision was based primarily on political strategy, support for Canada’s dairy cartel and subservience to China and the “New World Order” that he wants to create with his handlers in Beijing.

This is a corrupt administration defined by a mountain of mendacity and a preponderance of prevarication.

But his falsehoods are not checked or challenged by the mainstream media. He is lying about the trade deal just as he lied about the monies from the Gordie Howe bridge flowing to Canada and about condo developers not influencing his decision to buy overpriced condos in Vancouver.

Carney gets away with it because we are living in an Orwellian world where this week’s reality is next week’s fraud; this month’s enemy is next month’s friend.

The US is now the enemy and Canada is “at war” with the US — as ridiculous and shameful as that assertion sounds and is.

And there is the munificent prime minister with a $7.5 billion aid package for Canadians suffering from the tariffs not only from the US but from the ones Canada will put on US goods. The federal deficit will continue to spiral into the stratosphere. And now Carney is off to the European Parliament to, no doubt, eviscerate President Donald Trump, and continue to spread the festering, febrile relationship that now exists between Canada and the US.

But it was all planned. This is what Carney wanted.

But let me explain.

During the last week of August in 1939, people who understood politics knew another war was imminent. On Aug. 23 of that year, after intense meetings between German Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop and Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, two bitter foes forged the Russo-German Non-Aggression Pact, a treaty that cleared the path for the Nazis to invade Poland without fear of Russian intervention. Instead, a secret protocol in the agreement actually gave the eastern half of Poland to the Soviet Union – making them equally responsible for starting the Second World War.

The pact shocked the world because these two countries had been visceral enemies since the Nazi regime had come to power in 1933 on the wings of anti-Bolshevik rhetoric and its leader, Adolf Hitler, had spoken about Germany having the right to “lebensraum,” or living space, in the East – obviously referring to the Russian heartland.

Despite all the rhetoric, Hitler and Stalin had a shared respect for each other because neither man possessed an ounce of respect for ethical or moral values and would do anything necessary in the pursuit of power. Stalin had expressed praise for Hitler after the notorious “Night of the Long Knives” in July 1934 when the Nazi dictator had purged hundreds, perhaps thousands, of his political enemies, including the leadership of the SA, the brown-shirted storm troopers who had been integral in the seizure of power but were now an impediment to Hitler’s relationship with the army.

So as soon as the new friendship was proclaimed the propaganda machines in both countries went to work convincing their confused citizens that this was a completely normal, rational and acceptable relationship. This radical volte face was undoubtedly an inspiration for George Orwell and the political climate that he describes in 1984 where the competing nations are constantly changing whom they describe as friend and foe.

Does our world today not seem glaringly similar?

Let’s examine the failed trade talks between Canada and the United States as a prime example of how much of the news media does not report objective facts but politically-promulgated narratives.

The entire backdrop to these talks, the way in which Mark Carney has played off Donald Trump and the United States, has been an exercise in political duplicity.

Carney has been so conflicted in his public displays toward Trump as to be positively schizophrenic. While Carney has chided Trump and American hegemony at global venues like the World Economic Forum and taken time during a bizarre speech to the nation that oddly celebrated the War of 1812 as some kind of halcyon moment in Canada-US relations, he has also proclaimed his desire to Make America Great Again and his high-profile meeting with Trump at the White House have been lavish displays of sycophancy that often look more like adolescent hero worship and not calculated moments designed to massage Trump’s considerable ego. In one month Trump may be an existential threat to Canadians and the American empire consigned to history; in the following month Trump is a transformational president and the United States our greatest friend and ally.

American lawmakers are noting Carney’s antipathy towards the US and coziness to China:

So did Carney really want a trade deal with the US or is this just more political posturing so he can campaign in another federal election with nothing more than a pathetic elbows up strategy? There is no doubt that Carney set up the trade negotiations to fail. Just 10 days before Trump’s 50% tariff deadline, Carney traveled to Europe and effectively restricted himself from media contact with the world. He sent his most capable minister, Dominic LeBlanc to Washington to deal with the Trump trade team.

When he finally returned, it appeared as if there was some hope in resolving the trade dispute and Carney initially demonstrated optimism. But of course, all of that was a ruse to convince Canadians that Carney was actually doing his job and trying to secure the “better deal” he had promised and campaigned on in the last federal election. He needed to look like he was negotiating in earnestness and good faith.

Just days later, he was making the outrageous claims that Trump wanted to destroy Quebec culture and erode bilingualism in Canada. These were totally erroneous statements and raw prevarications. The US was only objecting to Quebec’s own Online Safety Act that blocks American media from the province. Nonetheless, few people have challenged these lies.

But Carney had already laid the groundwork for failure by castigating the US as yesterday’s world power and sought Canada’s future in a “New World Order” with China. Carney has literally spent decades of his spotty career as a globalist banker preaching the virtues of Chinese communism and articulating his desire to see China replace America as the driving force of the world economy with the Chinese Yuan replacing the US dollar as the global currency of note.

Carney has still not released any details of the trade deal to Canadians. The Trump administration has spoken about what was in the potential pact, with US trade representative Jamieson Greer telling The New York Times that “The United States had offered to reduce its tariffs on steel, aluminum and autos, and eliminate a recently imposed tariff on Canadian lumber, before negotiations suddenly collapsed last night,” according to the media outlet.

The paper continued.

“In an interview with The New York Times, Mr. Greer detailed previously confidential and unreported elements of the U.S. trade offer to Canada, saying those measures would have given Canada the most preferential treatment of any trading partner.”

There is another facet of Canada’s trading relationship with the US that has also been highlighted by the Trump administration: the “Transshipment scam.” An August 2026 report from the White House names Canada as a “Tier 1” offender.

“In plain terms, illegal transshipment is smuggling disguised as trade—fraud cloaked in paperwork—and, in truth, nothing new. For centuries, traders have routed goods through third countries to exploit tariff gaps, dodge imperial duties, skirt embargoes, and take advantage of preferential access offered by certain ports.”

Carney also refused to consider changes to Canada’s supply management system, especially as it affects dairy products. Carney, like Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, is entirely “loyal” to the dairy cartel This loyalty has blocked American products from Canadian shelves and kept the price of dairy artificially high for Canadians. It is also a point of deep contention for Trump, who has repeatedly demanded an end to the practice.

The power of the dairy cartel was manifest in 2019 when it worked to prevent former Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier from becoming leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and supported Saskatchewan MP Andrew Scheer because he pledged his support to the dairy cartel.

Bernier recently told me this:

“What I know about the deal, and I said that I believe you know for the last 10 years that we must put on the table the cartel in supply management, the cartel in dairy, poultry, and eggs. As you know, we have food inflation in this country, and if you want to fight that, if you want to give a chance to Canadians to be able to buy chicken, poultry, eggs, milk, and cheese at a very low price, we must abolish that because Canadians are paying almost twice the price for these products. So, if you put that on the table, we will be able, I believe, to have a deal with President Trump, because he said that when he was elected the first time that he wanted his dairy producers to be able to export to the U.S. He said that it was unfair, and he’s right about that.”

“So, if you put that on the table, we will be able, I believe, to have a deal with President Trump, because he said that when he was elected the first time that he wanted his dairy producers to be able to export to the U.S. He said that it was unfair, and he’s right about that. And also, you know, he was able to win Wisconsin in the last presidential election because of the dairy producers who gave them their support and people over there,” he continued.

“And there’s a lot of jobs. There’s a lot of producers that are mad about the situation and … so, if you put that on the table, abolish the cartel and we may have more chances to have a better deal with the Americans … Carney and Poilievre are on the side of the cartel. They are not on the side of Canadian consumers.”

We are also learning that Carney pulled his support for a revived Keystone XL pipeline at the eleventh hour of negotiations. Again, let us turn to a report from The New York Times.

“Mr. Carney had brought up the idea of reviving it during his first White House visit last year.

“Officials said that, when Mr. Carney and Mr. Trump spoke by phone early in the week, Mr. Carney again mentioned the pipeline, saying that, for the right deal on tariffs, Canada would consider bringing its side of the pipeline back to life. Mr. Trump was thrilled, a former official briefed on the talks said.

“But by Friday, the Keystone XL pipeline idea was buried again. A U.S. official said that, in the last few hours, Canada had expressed reluctance to cooperate. A Canadian official said that the trade deal on offer was not good enough to make the pipeline make sense.”

So is Carney playing his usual games? Deal on one week, deal off the next? Trump good one day, Trump bad the next?

Absolutely he is. Will the legacy media expose those lies? Probably not. They are as much in the pocket of Carney as he is in the pocket of his globalist masters. We were so close to a deal when Carney first returned from his Italian vacation but so far from a deal a mere few days later. Carney saw a political opportunity and a way out of normalizing relations with the US — something he really doesn’t want — and it was a two-for-one deal. And hey, with all the nonsense about Trump wanting to destroy Quebec culture and official bilingualism in Canada, he might even pick up a byelection seat in Quebec. Make that three-for-one.

And you’re telling me that a $7.5 billion aid package for Canadians affected by US tariffs wasn’t PLANNED? Come on.

Politics in Canada has never been seamier, more corrupt and more sordid.

Look up political courage in my political dictionary and there is a picture of OneBC Party leader Dallas Brodie there. The Greater Vancouver Area Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) was elected as BC Conservative but was ejected from the party for being too truthful under its former embarrassingly pusillanimous leadership.

No one has exposed the idiocy and toxicity of Aboriginal title and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People Act (UNDRIPA) so efficaciously and bravely than Brodie has. And has been branded a racist for shining the light of truth on these truly racist policies.

And she will never let ego get in the way of the primary goal of defeating the BC NDP government and Premier David Eby. She told me she will never split the vote or be “a spoiler” in the next provincial election.

But that is just the beginning of the ironies in BC politics that have not seemed to have gone mad but have truly become insane. A province that has everything – mountains, the Pacific Ocean, vast forests, huge mineral resources, splendid wildlife – is giving away vast swaths of it to 2% of the population that has been ridiculously presented as entitled to it because they are “indigenous” and the rest of us are second class citizens in our own province and country because they were supposedly here “first.” It’s as racist as any policy that came out of Nazi Germany – where Jews were disenfranchised both politically and economically — South Africa under apartheid rule.

If this racist fallacy is not demolished – and soon – BC will implode under the weight of its land transfers and political delusion. The BC NDP must be destroyed and David Eby, the most extremist, fanatical ideologue ever to inhabit the office of BC premier, must be defeated and encouraged to retire from the hurley-burley of politics and go back to the activism that remains an integral part of this personality.

Thank God the BC Conservatives now have a leader in Kerry-Lynne Findlay who can spar with the NDP. And it looks like Findlay has offered Brodie a way back to the Conservative caucus and it appears like Dallas is ready to come back. She told me that there is no way she is going to help the NDP or Eby retain their grip on power.

“I think she’s going to be a very good leader, and she’s got a lot of hard work to do there. We are both focused on what’s best for BC for sure. There have been no formal deals cut at this point, but we are going to work to do what’s best for British Columbians, and I will not be acting as a spoiler against British Columbians,” Dallas told me.

“Since when is a conservative who wants balanced budgets, transparency, a return to normalcy, men not playing in women’s sports, not cutting off the breasts of 14-year-old girls, not like teaching children about sexual positions in kindergarten? I mean, since when is that not the extreme position? We have been told that we are extreme when we’re just saying we want normal and get back to a normal course here. You have gone way out into left field here, literally and figuratively and you’re destroying children’s lives,” Brodie says, adding that Eby and his far-left cabinet are the ”extremists.”

“So people often say, ‘But Dallas will split the vote.’ I really don’t plan to have that impact on this province. That would be a horrible legacy for me. I’m out here on my own, not by my own choice. I was thrown out of the party for reasons that were unfair, but they had been gunning for me from the very beginning. I understand now. The left- wing wanted me out of there. I don’t really know why. I actually thought I was a super normal and nice person when I started doing this ... I’m strong and sometimes politicians don’t like strong people. And I’m smart and I’m well educated. And when I hear BS, I call it [out],” she says, noting that she just overwhelmingly won a recall vote in her riding.

Dallas says Eby was elected under false pretenses.

“There’s no question in my mind that if David Eby and the NDP had gone into the last election campaign saying that their plan was to pursue an extreme land back policy and to basically carve up the province and hand it over to groups and individual bands that total over 204 bands in this province, they would not have been elected. This whole agenda is rolling out so quickly now. People can’t even keep up with what’s happening,” Brodie says.

“I have to believe, and maybe maybe I live in my own conservative world, but I do not believe that the vast majority of British Columbians realized that this is what David Eby had in store for us when he got elected at the last election. There’s absolutely no way, no way. And you know the focus, unfortunately, has the media keeps trying to say, ‘Oh, don’t worry about your private property. They’re not going to throw you out of your homes.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, thank you. Oh, you’re not going to throw us out of our homes. We’re supposed to be grateful for that; but the real crown jewel that all of these bands and the outside influencing agents who are behind these bands are after is our Crown land. That’s the 95% that they really want. The private property is important; it’s gotten everybody’s attention, which is good because we all need to wake up to the magnitude of what’s going on here,” she warns.

But as bad as the effective loss of private property in BC is, Brodie notes that “the truth is, the real loss to British Columbians is these vast swaths of mineral-rich and resource-rich Crown lands and this is what we’re seeing.

Brodie insists the pace of land giveaways is increasing because the NDP know people in BC attuned to their policies and are beginning to really push back. But she says the woke left will continue to smear and slander people who oppose their policies by calling that pushback “racist.”

“This is a discussion that British Columbians have to have, and they cowed everybody into not talking about it before for fear of people being called what they’ve called me all along — a racist and a vile, disgusting person. So once you blow through that firewall and say you can call me whatever you want, I’m still going to stand up for the 98% of British Columbians who are not being represented by what the government’s doing here.

“They’ve been diddling, dawdling around for 30 years now, and now they’re like, ‘Oh, we better hurry up because the jig is up.’ That’s what I think is going on.”

Dallas does believe there’s hope for her province, that time has not run out.

“I’m here because I believe that we can redeem the province. We have to keep believing that nothing a government does can’t be undone. It can be undone. It will be painful, and there may be some legal things that we have to deal with. But you know what? Governments change, policies change and I’m watching carefully a case that’s going to be coming to trial in 2027. I think it’s scheduled for 16 days now, and it is going to be a very important case. It involves Pender Harbor, which is an area on the Sunshine Coast where they were probably one of the first areas to be hit that wasn’t sort of way up north,” Brodie says, suggesting that this high profile case will galvanize public opinion against unbridled land claims.

“Well, we have treaty obligations, and I’ve started to think about that concept. Okay, so we have treaty obligations, but does that mean every treaty has to be sort of a gold-plated treaty, or can it just be a simple, basic treaty that gives certain simple things? Does it have to be like something so grand and so damaging to the province?

“So the the negotiators get intimidated by being called a racist for not acceding to all the requests of the other side, and really they need to not have that emotional baggage on their back when they go into negotiations and go in and negotiate hard, just like you would in any business deal, and saying, ‘No, we’re not giving you that. No, the answer is no.

“I mean, if you think about what happened with the K’ómoks [Comox] Treaty, I mean, that’s another terrible situation: 340 people getting basically an upfront signing bonus of $100 million when our province is already bankrupt, and it just goes on and on. And that treaty gets reopened in 10 years, and you know I wouldn’t think that it’s going to be reopened to give them less in 10 years. It’ll just be more and more and that treaty is only the sixth out of a 200 and fourth. That leaves 197 treaties to go. I mean, David, I don’t know how this continues on; but my thought is we need to defund this. Stop giving them the money to sue us, and then we give them the money and the lawyers … They come after us, we lose, we give them everything, and then we give them the money to sue us so that we can give them more money. That’s how I see it. That is a terrible business. That’s a terrible business structure.”

Brodie says it comes down to too many people making far too much money out of these legal battles “I mean, nothing really has improved for the average native person, but the chiefs are getting rich.”

I ask Dallas about Jim McMurtry, the teacher who was removed from his position – literally physically removed from his class – for daring to question the mass graves hoax, that erroneously suggested 215 residential school students were killed and buried on the grounds.

“I mean, Jim was brave. Jim is a very brave man; but he suffered the consequences, didn’t he? It happened to me. You stick your head up above the parapet, you get your head blown off, and that’s what’s happened to me. Although you know, Jim and I are now recovering our footing and the times are changing and voices like mine and Jim’s are now ascendant. People are listening and they’re relieved that finally someone is speaking about the outrageous situation in our schools, [about] this whole Reconciliation Industry, which is absolutely out of control.

“Everybody in Canada wanted a better situation for the Native people. I don’t know a person who doesn’t. We’re all upset that things haven’t gotten better, but it should be better by now. [With] the amount of money spent, everything should be on those reserves. Those gardens should be manicured. They should have practically chauffeurs at every door and a steak on every plate every night.”

We talk further about that mass burial hoax that started in Kamloops and spread across Canada. But there was never a shred of evidence that Native residential school students were murdered by teachers or authorities but angry activists burned down Christian churches in some kind of weird retaliation.

Manitoba Chief Garrison Settee told a news conference following the last Assembly of First Nations meeting in July that “First Nations” don’t have to prove anything; don’t have to provide any evidence because they are getting their information directly from the spirts of the dead students.

Wow.

“I don’t think we should have to prove to anybody what happened to these [dead children at Kamloops] because they are there and they send us messages telling us they’re there...Chief Casimir and I went to visit the sacred site. You can tell they’re there, right?”

Dallas notes “that would not fly in a courtroom, and it shouldn’t fly in the news and that’s not acceptable. If Dallas Brodie was going around saying that I know because I speak to my dead people, people would say, ‘Oh, she’s mentally ill. She’s crazy.’ You know, they already try and say that about me!”

“I would think that if I started saying ‘I’m speaking to people under the ground, that people would say, ‘Wow … there’s a screw loose there … and I think that would be justified. You know, all of us would like to speak to relatives who are gone but that’s not satisfactory to come into a courtroom. It’s not evidence to say, ‘Spirit, speak to me.’ That can’t be evidence. It wouldn’t work in any kind of trial. And when you’ve accused people of murder, you have to show the evidence.”

Brodie says the Kamloops was given first $12.1 million from the federal government to find the bodies and then another $12.5 million to build a “healing centre” and recover from all the invented emotional trauma.

Nothing was ever excavated so where did the money go?

“The progress reports weren’t even provided, and all I can say is that they probably showed that they weren’t doing anything. Obviously … you don’t hide things if you have nothing to hide and they would say, ‘that’s our data sovereignty.’ I could say, as an MLA, ‘I want data sovereignty over what I’m being paid and what I’m spending on travel. You have no right to know what Dallas Brodie is spending on a helicopter. or hotels or food, and because it’s my data sovereignty and it’s my personal business.’ Well, people would laugh at me out of the room.”

Dallas is hopeful for change in BC

“They’re all saying, “Oh, Kerry-Lynne Findlay is so extreme,’ and you know, Oh my goodness! The radicals are not the Conservative Party, and certainly not Kerry-Lynne Findlay, who would like to bring things back to a normal course. So this whole characterization of her is outrageous, and we all know that they’re panicking.”

That panic will only intensify Dallas, when the NDP fanatics know they are facing a united conservative front.

Pray for BC. Pray for an election. Pray for an end to the madness.

People’s Party of Canada (PPC) leader Maxime Bernier always generates strong debate in the comment section when he appears on my daily broadcast “Stand on Guard.” Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) supporters hate Bernier and they berate me for allowing him to have a platform to speak. PPC supporters and others note that Bernier clearly says things that CPC leader Pierre Poilievre won’t say.

Poilievre would never say Canada needs a revolution. Bernier called for a revolution three times during our interview. Takes guts to say that.

I have always said that conservatives reserve their most bitter hatred for competing conservative parties, just the the Progressive Conservatives vented their spleen most vehemently against the Reform Party. They despised then-Reform Party leader Preston Manning more than Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chretien.

Kind of like Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin hating democratic socialist parties more than the Nazis and the fascists.

I have known Max since his days in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. He served as foreign affairs and industry minister in that past Conservative government and was often in media reports because he added so much life to what was a fairly button-down, almost boring administration. Berner dressed well, was seen with beautiful women and could captivate conservative true believers with his firm grasp of free market principles. He was the only politician I ever knew who had read “Atlas Shrugged,” by Ayn Rand and could quote the Objectivist philosopher in speeches.

Since forming and leading the PPC in 2019, Berner has endured a strange sort of political hibernation, first losing his Quebec seat and then running unsuccessfully in a a 2023 byelection in Portage-Lisgar, MB, a deeply conservative riding that seemed tailor-made for a man who positioned himself to the right of his Conservative Party opponent. Support for the PPC has never really risen beyond 2 or 3% in any opinion poll and the party has failed to win any seats in the House of Commons. He is always accused of splitting the conservative vote and remaining a party leader only because he savors the attention, even if the spotlight is dimming.

Yet, why is it that whenever Berner speaks on core conservative issues, especially those culture war issues that CPC communications “strategists” are so viscerally afraid of, I find myself thinking, “Why can’t Pierre Poilievre talk like that?”

Why can’t the Conservative leader demand we stop funding a war in Ukraine with $26 billion that have gone to corrupt politicians and oligarchs in a war that has been designed to fund the Military Industrial Complex. We know this war did not really begin with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and it is clear with any objective assessment of the conflict that Ukraine cannot be a member of NATO and it has been NATO’s ceaseless expansion that has pushed Europe closer to igniting a world war.

Why does Poilievre pander to the Khalistan separatists by dressing up and promising direct flights to Amritsar, in the Punjab? Why the hell hasn’t he been up on his feet in the House of Commons exposing Prime Minister Mark Carney’s plan to enslave Canada in a censorship and surveillance state? Why did he not ask a single question in Question Period about Bill C-9, the “Combatting Hate Act,” that has effectively ended free speech in Canada? Why is he so cautious about condemning mass migration?

Well, we all know, and as Maxime points out in this interview, Poilievre is looking for votes in Toronto and you just don’t talk about immigration in that febrile city; no, you stand shoulder to shoulder with Liberal leaders and talk about supporting Ukraine “for as long as it takes” and you offer flights to Amritsar. That’s also why Poilievre can never support the abolition of Equalization, that sordid and uniquely Canadian concept that forces Alberta to pay Ontario and Quebec billions of dollars so they can then give it away in social programs.

So, if Maxime Bernier was ever close to power, would he begin to dilute the policies of the PPC? Would he allow that trite description used by ubiquitous compromised politicians, “mix a little water with his wine.”

I hope not and I think not. Max could have taken the CPC leadership from Andrew Scheer if he had only bowed to the dairy cartel but he refused to do that then and I think he would refuse to sacrifice his principles.

But here is what Max had to say this week on my broadcast.

I asked him why and how Carney has failed so miserably to get a trade deal with President Donald Trump and the United States and if he thought Carney would call a snap election as a result.

“I don’t know about the snap election, but what I know about the deal, and I said that I believe you know for the last 10 years that we must put on the table the cartel in supply management, the cartel in dairy, poultry, and eggs. As you know, we have food inflation in this country, and if you want to fight that, if you want to give a chance to Canadians to be able to buy chicken, poultry, eggs, milk, and cheese at a very low price, we must abolish that because Canadians are paying almost twice the price for these products,” he says.

“So, if you put that on the table, we will be able, I believe, to have a deal with President Trump, because he said that when he was elected the first time that he wanted his dairy producers to be able to export to the U.S. He said that it was unfair, and he’s right about that. And also, you know, he was able to win Wisconsin in the last presidential election because of the dairy producers who gave them their support and people over there,” he continues.

“And there’s a lot of jobs. There’s a lot of producers that are mad about the situation and … so, if you put that on the table, abolish the cartel and we may have more chances to have a better deal with the Americans … Carney and Poilievre are on the side of the cartel. They are not on the side of Canadian consumers.”

Bernier dismisses Carney’s talking points about being for “Canada Strong” and building a better country.

“Carney is a globalist-in-chief. Carney is a real bureaucrat. Carney thinks that he knows better than you what is good for you. He is not the kind of politician that we need to bring back prosperity in this country under his government. You know, he’s doing like Trudeau: big deficit, big spending, trying to buy votes with money that we don’t have by creating a huge deficit that we are paying for with inflation right now, and our grandchildren and our children will pay for it with bigger taxes. So this country is not going in the right direction.”

Maxime was in Alberta recently supporting the province’s right to have a referendum on whether to have another referendum on independence.

“I did a tour in Alberta, speaking about the radical decentralization, respect for Albertans. They need to be respected by the federal government … we have a Constitutional crisis plus stagflation, stagnation with inflation,” he says.

“It’s young Canadians [who] have a lot of difficulties finding a job. Why are they discouraged and depressed with the situation? They cannot buy a house. They cannot have a decent job. It’s all going to these fake migrants, fake international students. We need to deport them, but Poilievre and Carney are pandering to them. So this country is a big mess and we need a revolution. And the People’s Party is there to do that revolution.”

Wow.

And how does this grab you as a description of Alberta under equalization?

“Ottawa is looking at Alberta as a subordinate, as an ATM with a cowboy hat. So it’s ridiculous. That much change, and it is why the People’s Party is with Albertans and all Canadians. Because if they have more autonomy, if the federal government is doing a radical decentralization that will be the same for every province. Every province would be able to benefit from that.”

Bernier reserves some of his fiercest remonstrances for establishment immigration policy.

“If we are opening our borders and diversity is our strength, you know, this country is going down the drain. We need to have people that will integrate into our society and if you bring everybody here who doesn’t share your values, you will have conflicts. You will have social distrust. I said that eight years ago … and I was right,” he declares.

“You know these people who are coming here don’t share our values and these criminals who are here without any vetting, and the fact that we are not deporting them – these illegals must be deported.

“And now the government and Poilievre are looking at these fake students who are saying, you know, ‘I want to stay in Canada.’ No, sorry. If you have a visa to study, after you have your diploma, you go back to your country of origin,” Bernier insists.

Maxime says it is a case of ‘Putting Canadians first, and we are because we will deport them. We will end mass immigration with a moratorium on immigration, a pause on immigration. Yes, our population will go down, and that’s okay. That’s not the end of the world. You know that will help all the pressure that these migrants are putting on our social services, on our education system, on our healthcare system,” he says.

Bernier notes how long wait times are in Canada’s overburdened, inefficient and very costly system of socialized medicine.

He is critical of Poilievre for “pandering” to various ethnic groups – especially those from Khalistan.

“There’s more seats in the GTA [Greater Toronto Area] than in all Alberta, and so he wants to have support in the GTA ... And these people want to bring more of them, and they want to reunify [their] family. So Poilievre is for that. We will end that program.”

We spoke for a time about the blatant push by the mainstream media to oust Poilievre as Conservative leader and have him replaced with another Red Tory like Jean Charest or Doug Ford. I asked him if the PPC would not benefit if the CPC moved further to the left with another leader.

“Our time will come in Canada. I believe that the next election will be about … immigration, deportation, and prosperity and we have the best platform for the future of this country. And it’s a little bit more difficult to be elected as a populist here in Canada because of our electoral system, first-past-the-post. It’s more difficult. We don’t have any proportionality in our electoral system.”

“But that being said, I believe that our time will come. We’ll have candidates elected. I’ll be elected, and we will start that common sense revolution in Ottawa after the next election,” Bernier predicts.

I asked him about the “Combatting Hate Act” and how Carney has taken away Canadians’ freedom of speech and is instituting massive surveillance with Bill C-22, which will allow the police to spy on our digital communication. He is quick to eviscerate the Liberal government for playing games with the foundational freedoms of Canadians.

“Yes, we are under surveillance by the federal government, and you know there’s no such thing as hate speech. Your freedom of speech is there to protect the speech that you don’t like. You know, it’s not to protect the speech that you like. You know, we must be free. I must be free to insult you. I must be free to lie. I must be free to do things like that.

“That’s freedom of speech. Now they try to control that, and they’re sending the police to check that. You know, look at the criminals out there and our criminal justice system that is not working. They must fight criminals, not … Canadians, law abiding Canadians. like you, like me,” Bernier asserts.

“Real hate speech is like you are calling for violence. That’s hate speech, not when you are saying … ‘I don’t like Indian fake students.’ It is not hate speech; but it may be hate speech because of this legislation.”

Then we got to the wildfires in BC that “experts” continue to blame on climate change.

“You know, 50% of the fires are there because of us, because of humans and the other 50% are natural. So that was not climate change … but it’s useful for them to say that because they want to scare people. You know, if we don’t tax you, if we don’t put a climate tax, this this country and this planet will disappear. It’s all propaganda. It’s all fear.”

Bernier notes that there’s nothing new about wildfires They “happened 50 years ago, 100 years ago and it will happen in the future. So I’m asking our government to be serious and to invest to protect our forest, and they are not actually doing that right now.”

I gave Max the last word and he didn’t disappoint.

“I don’t see a lot of hope in this country if we don’t have that revolution and I’m telling people, you know, I hope you’ll support the People’s Party. If you don’t have our ideas, don’t vote for us because we won’t change. We won’t do any pandering to have your vote. We are doing politics by conviction, and I believe that if we have more support, these ideas will be discussed and will have more influence,” he says.

“We started that party with ideas, and we don’t change our platform. We don’t do any surveys and focus groups. We have a strong vision based on individual freedom, personal responsibility, respect, and fairness. And these are our four principles that we follow as a party. And I believe that our future will be better because you know we have the right policies, and we just need Canadians to read that and to embrace our program and we’ll do our best for that,” he concludes.

Maxime might never be prime minister or the PPC the government but wouldn’t it be nice if they could at least hold the balance of power in Parliament and influence a Conservative government to do the right things and legislate the right policy?

It might be the beginning of a new birth of freedom in Canada.

Long overdue.

Recently I described how “Carneyda” is drifting towards dictatorship and economic collapse.

But “Eby-C” is sprinting towards oblivion.

If BC Premier David Eby continues to give away the province to Native chiefs, there won’t be any province left to live in. The Native chiefs will be the landlords and we will be serfs, along with the Native people they leave in poverty and squalor.

It’s obscene what Eby is doing and he should be held accountable for his reckless policies. Eby can be as munificent as he chooses with his own property and cash but stop giving away land that should belong to all British Columbians.

And he announced this catastrophe as wildfires terrorize people and animals, destroy homes and desecrate the land — largely due to his abominable forestry management.

Jim McMurtry, who spent his career instructing many of those citizens as a high school teacher and has suffered at the hands of the NDP government and its extremist acolytes in the BC Teachers Federation, thinks Eby should be arrested.

He also believes conservatives and libertarians in BC can unite to defeat this odious government if everyone remains true to their principles and keep their eyes on the objective.

McMurtry was working at Abbotsford BC’s Robert Bateman Secondary School on May 31, 2021 when he dared to question the ridiculous Native reconciliation narrative of the mass graves of 215 students that were erroneously said to exist at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.

He was a substitute teacher in a Grade 12 calculus class that day and when the school administrators heard about his rejection of the mass graves hoax, he was physically removed from his class, in front of the students, and treated like a criminal or misbehaving youth.

It was humiliation from the Reconciliation Inquisition that not only rules the BC school system but the provincial government as well, which might best be described as an unelected coalition between a radical socialist NDP premier and the Native chiefs who keep demanding more land and more money.

I had Jim on my show this week and, wouldn’t you know it, as we were talking about his experiences since being dismissed, fired and canceled for speaking the truth, Eby was announcing that the province would be giving away vast tracks of land – equivalent in size to the country of Portugal – to Native bands who were demanding it because their race and ethnicity gives them special rights – especially with regards to real estate – that nobody else possesses: 24 million acres, some of it right in the heart of Victoria, the provincial capitol and one of the oldest cities in Western Canada. People will just have to get “used to” the idea, the dunderheaded BC commissars said.

But here’s what’s so damn stupid about this. Eby was not elected to give away the store – public or private – yet he knew as soon as he agreed to Aboriginal title and adopted the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People Act (UNDRIPA) as provincial legislation, that is exactly what would happen. Homeowners in Richmond recently learned that the Cowichan Band owns their property even if they have no mortgage and have paid taxes on their home for decades. Doesn’t matter. The chiefs have a right to it. Because they’re Native.

I’m sick of calling a handful of people “First Nations” when they probably weren’t the first ones to claim land in BC and they certainly don’t constitute nations. But well-meaning liberals have been calling them First Nations and giving them ridiculous land acknowledgements that aren’t even rooted in reality. I remember when I first heard someone tell me that an event was taking place on the “unceded land” of some Native band and my thinking that this was just beyond absurd. You mean, we have no right to be here because ages ago, some “indigenous” people were breaking bread?

Whatever happened to the idea or at least the goal of equality under the law? We have got to repeal UNDRIPA, deny Aboriginal title and ultimately abolish the Reserve system. All of these policies not only establish Natives as a race with special status but, ironically, keep the average Native person poor, unemployed, addicted and hopeless while their chiefs get richer every year with million dollar a year salaries and unlimited access to money accreted by industries or activities related to the Reserve.

If Native chiefs aren’t told to back off and stop interfering in federal and provincial politics like no economic activity can occur without their approval and no piece of land is safe from their grasp, BC will become a ghost province as people emigrate to the rest of Canada or the US. This is no way to run a province. It’s the only way the incompetent and ideologically fanatic Eby knows how to run a province – in conjunction with his Native chief overlords, of course.

BC Conservative leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay is committed to fighting this madness and restoring BC to sanity.

I have been following Jim’s story for years and it was a pleasure to talk to him this week. We realized right away that we perceived the political crisis unraveling in BC in precisely the same way. I asked him what we needed to do to make equality under the law a reality in both BC and Canada.

“Yeah, Dave, you sound a lot like me. I sound a lot like you. And just before I answer, if I could just briefly mention to to your viewers that my case is now in front of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and in the form of a thorough judicial review, in the form of a petition; so my case does have legs and what I’m arguing for is a teachers’ right to a profession, just basic rights to be able to speak without being afraid … that I didn’t say anything wrong about what happened in Kamloops.”

McMurtry has challenged his dismissal in court but has been stymied by a provincial judiciary that is solidly in the Reconciliation cheering section. But now he’s taking his case to the BC Supreme Court, with the help of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms.

“But the essential thing is what you just said. It’s about [having] Charter rights, and they’re meant to be more than a paper tiger. That and maybe the most fundamental [right] of all … the one you’ve mentioned: freedom of expression, which is again part of my case. So I’m hoping that I can get a precedent. Win or lose, I’m going to be bringing attention and I think my case is going to be appealed all the way to the Supreme Court [of Canada] if I lose the provincial level by the group of lawyers with the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms, who’ve kindly taken on my case.”

McMurtry questions the very idea of calling Native bands “First Nations” but says the concept “is stretched” beyond belief with some groups that could literally bring all of their members into the backroom of a Denny’s restaurant.

“One of the nations closest to me, it’s called the Qayqayt, or the New Westminster Indian Band. They have 24 members. They don’t have a Reserve. There’s just 24 people, all part of one extended family — and they’re a First Nation — and to give them Indigenous title, the whole thing is really quite absurd,” he insists, observing that there are about 24 bands in BC, “who, if you go onto their territory, you have to pay a visa. You have to essentially purchase a visa. You have to pay money to be on their territory.” McMurtry doubts that policies like these are “going to settle everything in Canada and everything’s going to go great for business and so forth,” he says.

But Jim says the end goal is more than just control.

“Well, it’s important to note that for most Indigenous groups in Canada, their end goal is not to have senior title to our private property and to our public property, to our parks and our roads and everything — but it’s ultimately to secede from Canada. They want to. They really want to. We put this nonsensical idea of their [being] a nation in their heads and now they want to be a nation … They want to be a separate country, and then of course in no time, because they won’t be able to function, the Chinese will come in and then we’ll have Chinese nuclear submarines right beside our coast.”

Then McMurtry gets to the most controversial – and perhaps most innovative – part of our conversation.

“The whole thing is absolutely insane. What can be done? I don’t know. Some people think it’s late in the game. I think the very first thing — and it’s going to sound a little bit extreme — I think the police and CSIS and all those that are involved in enforcement of our laws should arrest David Eby. I really think the NDP government is doing something that is utterly seditious and treasonous: that they’re disassembling Canada,” McMurtry says.

“So to me, if you were to go around my neighborhood and say that, you know, ‘the Russians are coming, the Russians are coming,’ and they’re going to take all our houses and do terrible things to our women and that will be the end of us — then people would pick up arms or whatever and say, ‘over my dead body and good luck to the Russians,’ but there’s something more insidious happening,” he says.

But in the meantime, the Native chiefs are making an obscene amount of money out of the process and by perpetuating the notion that they are victims of a wicked colonial system that has somehow never gone away – even though it has been evanescent for a century or more.

“The chiefs make all sorts of money and they don’t have to report it. They’re the heads of the the most powerful Indian or indigenous grouping in British Columbia called the Union of British Columbian Indian Chiefs.” McMurtry says, noting that the current president of the organization is Grand Chief Stewart Phillip. who “made $900,000 tax free in 2014. So you can only imagine what he’s making in 2026, and we have no idea.” In 2025, Phillip was reelected to his tenth consecutive three-year term as head of the powerful lobby.

McMurtry says people don’t question the system because they know they could lose their livelihood or even their freedom for doing so.

“They know the best thing to do is to just go along with ideology. During the 1930s, if you wanted to be successful in Germany, you became a National Socialist or a communist in 1917 Russia. This is what you do. You become a woke cultist to be successful and that’s been the case for now, certainly, in the last decade, but longer in Canada.” Jim says it’s “going to take ordinary people like you and me, David, just to say. "‘No: we’re not accepting this. I’m not accepting any of it. There’s absolutely no special privilege based on race anymore in this country.’”

“Reconciliation … it’s a political idea that came down from the top, and it’s a game to make the liberals feel as though they’ve got a purpose, and of course, obviously, are going to do it … it’s the greatest threat in Canadian history. All this gives away people’s rights to private property and to public access to parks, and soon there will be roads, and soon there will be all sorts of things. Because if you give … a Native band control of a large swath of BC, and you have to now pay 25 bucks just to step on their property in the form of a visa, that means you’re paying $25 just to use the highway that you or your ancestors paid for … So it’s just awful.”

What really irritates McMurtry is the very notion that only Natives can call themselves “indigenous,” providing them with a special status that allows them both special privileges and unique exemptions.

“If there are more Canadians that would just stay, stop where they are and just say no. I’m not participating in any of this. I’m indigenous. I’m just as much indigenous as anybody else in this classroom, in this courtroom, or anywhere else. I was born here. My parents were born here. Their parents were born here. How dare you deprive me of a sense of having a homeland? What are you doing? No, I don’t accept it. So I think that’s what’s needed. Leaders are important. Good leaders are important, but … I don’t trust political leaders because political leaders are out for themselves.”

McMurtry has made it “very clear” to his union, employer, regulatory body, the labor relations board and others that he’s “not going away;’ but they’re going to go away.”

His fight has never been about just getting his job back but “it’s about them, either leaving their jobs, or or being walked out like they walked me out. That I’m not going anywhere until Canadian schools are no longer judging kids on the basis of race. Where they’re no longer like perverts inquiring into the sexual orientation of 12-year-olds in the classroom. Where they’re no longer telling people that science is less important than some elder who says, ‘Oh, there’s 25,000 disappeared and missing indigenous children from residential schools.’ Oh, really? Oh, okay. And the evidence of that?” Jim asks, noting that there has been absolutely no evidence of any bodies buried at the old Kamloops school and the Native leadership is now insisting that they don’t have to provide any.

Incredibly, at a news conference following the national meeting of the Assembly of First Nations in Ottawa, just this past July, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO) Grand Chief Garrison Settee claimed the imaginary dead children are communicating with the living and declaring their invidious fate.

“You can tell they’re there, right?” he asked an incredulous audience of journalists.

McMurtry agrees that conservative voters in BC must unite but that it won’t happen unless the dominant Conservative Party of BC commits to sustaining its opposition to the race-based policies of the NDP government.

“Now I think Dallas is alone right now in having that courage. I’m hoping and believing that Kerry-Lynne Findlay will as well. But I think Dallas Brodie is not going to give up on OneBC until she knows that her principles [are upheld], which are really the principles of the vast majority Canadians, which are [that] everyone should be treated equally and hiring should be done on merit and everybody should be the same … in a classroom or you know, in a courtroom or whatever …” McMurtry says, noting that all of this policy of equality under the law is foundational to Canada’s democracy and reflects what the country has always believed.

“If Dallas feels that the provincial Conservative Party is going to stand by these core national values, then I think it’s a no-brainer that she’ll join forces. But this is what a lot of people want to do — they want to put politics above principles, and I don’t think that works with Dallas Brodie.”

Does Jim McMurtry need your help?

“I would allow people to buy my book and be interested in my story, but I don’t want money from anybody. That’s an ethical decision that I took long ago in life. I was going to do it on my own and if I couldn’t do it on my own, then I was going to perish. And I’m not going to be a parasite. I’m going to be a giver and I think that’s how I’m living my life; but what I ask from people is is one thing, and that is to care about your country, to care about your family, care about your kids, and you can’t do that if you turn a blind eye to what’s happening in our schools and happening all around us,” he says, warning that even “a war in the streets” is possible if people are denied their land, their rights and their freedom.

“You’re going to have terrible violence like Canada has never experienced before in its history, and even worse than what happened in the Rebellions of 1834, long ago in Upper and Lower Canada, if you continue to take away not just private but public land from taxpaying Canadians. So not only does this Indigenous special entitlement need to end, but there should be no benefits in any job or any scholarship or anything for anyone based on race,” McMurtry declares, warning that it is political disaster to “continue to go down this woke path of pitting one group in society against other groups.”

Hopefully we can just throw the bums out before it gets to this.

But that’s anybody’s guess right now.

One thing’s for certain: Jim and I will keep on fighting inequality and resolving to resist.

Can Tucker Carlson convince Americans that they aren’t currently operating under a two-party political system so much as a Uniparty amalgam that has blurred the differences between the Republicans and Democrats since at least the 1992 presidential election? If he can successfully create a third party and successfully elect a candidate in time for the 2028 presidential election, he will be the first person to do that since the current two party system began to dominate American politics in 1856.

I share these observations as a Canadian who is watching his country wither and die before him, assaulted by a popular Liberal government that is intentionally destroying our freedoms, our culture and our will to live. I view America as the last, best hope for freedom in this world. I don’t know if there is any redemption for Canada but I am hopeful that America can be saved. Carlson’s 10 point appeal this week attracted me from the start because he dared to recognize the horrible proximity of nuclear war to global conflict and he said what most of us think but few of us say: artificial intelligence is going to put one-third of us out of work and potentially plunge us into perpetual despair.

Carlson’s detractors and haters are already saying that the very notion of creating a third party is both absurd and a guarantee that Democrats will win the presidency and the Congress in 2028. Haven’t third party movements from the right always hurt Republicans? Well, usually they have but that is because all third party protests in the twentieth century were driven by personality and characterized by the political ego of the presidential candidate.

I wasn’t always a fan of Carlson, for most of his journalism career, finding him too peripheral, predictable and pedestrian. If you ever caught CNN’s The Spin Room, a show he co-hosted oh so briefly from 2000-2001 with liberal Bill Press, you’ll know what I mean. But Carlson matured and grew more independent and less a purveyor of GOP talking points as he began to question Republican doctrine. Something transformational happened to Carlson when he became the top-rated act on Fox News and on cable news with Tucker Carlson Tonight, which debuted in 2016 and ended in 2023.

I remember the night when his usual monologue was not usual anymore and he began to talk like a man inspired to retrieve America’s dignity and freedom and he spoke with fierce determination and a languid eloquence about how the country had been hollowed-out by illegal and legal immigration, drugs, the loss of manufacturing and a moral collapse. I was working for the Daily Caller at the time and we all watched Carlson’s show every night to catch a few clips for rebroadcast. On this particular night, people were all noting in emails how Tucker had suddenly caught fire and broadcast fireworks that lit up not just his own show but stole the Fox network itself.

Carlson kept viewers tuning in until he eventually reached an ideological gap with the management, who weren’t prepared to jettison the corporate conservative or neo-con principles that Tucker was undermining with forceful rhetoric and cogent reasoning.

So he left and formed the Tucker Carlson Network on social media, joining so many other former Fox stars that had either been forced out by the network or just decided to leave.

Since that departure, Carlson has been drifting further and further away from President Donald Trump, whom he actively campaigned for in the 2024 presidential election, and coming to the realization that Trump ran on an entirely fabricated platform: the Department of Government Expenditures (DOGE) was quickly retired, mass deportations were quietly forgotten, the war in Ukraine continued unabated, a war with Iran infuriated the MAGA base and subservience to Israel reached unseen depths.

So if the Republican Party is beyond redemption and the Democratic Party is even worse, what can Carlson and his allies like Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) hopes to achieve this with a third party and is such a construction even possible?

First, let us see how third parties have fared in the past and consider how Carlson and his team can beat the odds and successfully make history.

The United States began as a two party system between the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans, the precursor to the Democratic Party The Federalists advocated a more active central government while the Democratic-Republicans were more libertarian and might have been defined by Thomas Jefferson’s adage: “that government is best which governs least.”

Throughout the nineteenth century there were various challengers to the Democrats, including the Whigs and even the Anti-Masonic Party. However, the two party system reasserted itself in 1856 with the emergence of the Republican Party, which was a coalition of abolitionists, free-soil advocates and Whigs.

The Republicans ran John C. Fremont as their presidential nominee in 1856 but had to wait until 1860 and the election of Abraham Lincoln for any success. Lincoln only won that year because the Democratic Party was regionally fractured and hopelessly divided by pro and anti-slavery candidates.

There were several notable attempts to break the two party system in the twentieth century but none have been successful and all were focused on the personality of the presidential candidate and not any real party.

In 1912 former President Theodore Roosevelt ran against Republican William Howard Taft and Democrat Woodrow Wilson. Although Roosevelt ran under the banner of the Progressive Party or “Bull Moose” Party, it might have been called the Roosevelt Party because the run was entirely driven by the personality and charisma of Roosevelt, who came in second after Wilson. Roosevelt enabled Wilson to win that election because he badly divided the Republican vote. Wilson would have most likely lost in any two-way race with either of his opponents.

Shift to 1948 and President Harry Truman watched a party revolt at the Democratic Convention. Strom Thurmond, who would end up as a Republican senator decades later, led the Dixiecrats against Truman’s liberal economic and social policies. Thurmond did siphon Democrat votes away from Truman, especially in the South and actually won electoral college votes in three southern states but Truman still won against the highly favored Republican Thomas Dewey. Crypto-communist Henry Wallace, who had been Franklin Roosevelt’s vice president in his third term, also ran against Truman but even his vote splitting didn’t stop Truman from winning the presidency in his own right.

Twenty years later, in 1968, Democratic Gov. George Wallace, as the nominee of he American Independence Party, ran against Democratic Vice President Hubert Humphrey and Republican Richard Nixon. Wallace was a segregationist famous for saying, “Segregation today, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever in opposing the school integration in Alabama. But Wallace was also a populist who was keen to exploit the anger at President Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society government overreach and he actually won more electoral college votes than any other third candidate in history. It is debatable whose candidacy Wallace hurt the most – Humphrey’s or Nixon’s – since he was both a Democrat and an anti-Democrat; both reminiscent of all the Democratic Party had been in the South and somewhat anticipating what the Republican Party would become in the South. Nonetheless, in one of the closer elections in US history, Nixon was triumphant.

In 1992 and 1996, Texas businessman Ross Perot ran against President George H.W. Bush and then Sen. Bob Dole as well as Democratic challenger Bill Clinton under the banner of the Reform Party. Clinton, of course, won both contests, each time with less than 50% of the vote because Perot took so much support away from Republicans Bush and Dole. Perot received over 18% of the vote in 1992, though that dropped by 10% in 1996. Clinton certainly owed his first presidential victory to Perot as much as to his own campaigning.

But was there really a Reform Party or was it just the Perot Party? Its only electoral success was the election of former wrestler Jesse Ventura as governor of Minnesota but the party died with Ventura’s one term of office, indicating again that the party was personality-driven.

Now here we are in 2026 and Tucker Carlson is musing – just musing – about a third party system. In his address to the nation on Wednesday night, Carlson outlined 10 points for what could be a party platform but did not suggest he is prepared to begin a third party or what that party’s name might be. He did not even hint that he would consider a presidential run in 2028. His 10 points are entirely uncontentious and also completely without specific policy direction. The United States should be sovereign, decent, united – hard to argue with any of that but only because the demands are so colloquial and so innocuous, and arguably, potentially obtainable.

Yet it truly was an address to the nation and Carlson reaches more people through his channel than any politician in America: with the exception of Trump.

But here’s how Carlson can go from a series of points to a political movement. And it’s surprisingly simple.

A viable third party must attract disaffected Republicans, commonsense Democrats and committed Independents. Roughly 35% of Americans are registered Democrats, Another 30.6% identify as Republicans while 30.6 are Independents. The remaining 3.8% support minor parties. So that means a third party needs to capture about half of Republicans, Democrats and Independents to win. Anything beyond that would constitute a landslide.

There have never been more unhappy Republicans than right now, so once the hemorrhaging starts, it could prove fatal to the party. Independents are made for third party support because they already constitute a de facto third party.

But how to attract Democrats?

The third party must emphasize the foundational freedoms that unite MAGA Republicans and Democrats right now: anti-war, anti-corruption and freedom of speech.

Republicans and Democrats have been united in the past but then it was about issues that also united Americans — unlike today. Think of the 1960 presidential election between Sen. John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard Nixon. There was virtually no difference between the candidates except on the basis of physical appeal. Kennedy and Nixon, who were actually friends from their days in the House of Representatives, had shared values on foreign policy, defense, civil rights and taxation. If anything, Kennedy was more hawkish during the election campaign and accused the Eisenhower administration that Nixon had served as allowing a “missile gap” with the Soviet Union.

Contentious social issues like gun control, legalization of drugs and abortion were not on the table.

But they are today so where does a third party position itself on these issues in order to focus on why America needs change.

Well, here’s a concept that hasn’t been promoted since the antebellum days, but the best way to find a middle ground on divisive social issues is through POPULAR SOVEREIGNTY.

That didn’t go so well when Democratic Sen. Stephen Douglas, who famously debated Abraham Lincoln during the Illinois Senate race, applied it to slavery but that doesn’t mean it won’t work for other issues. Quite simply it means that states will decide to what level guns are available, what drugs are legal and whether abortion is accessible.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if a concept that didn’t help avert the Civil War could be used to diffuse a second one?

That will allow the third party to focus on the issues that really matter: freedom of speech and freedom from surveillance.

There are some woke Democrats who will never support a third party founded by former or independent Republicans. There are some Republicans who will never vote for a party that they will view as a creation of renegades and traitors.

The challenge is to find that vast commonsense coalition in between the diehards on both sides because time is simply running out on freedom in America and the two party system has clearly failed.

And, as Carlson has noted with the twin catastrophes of nuclear war and AI threatening to destroy everything we have ever known and loved, we need to find a system that works.

Before the US goes the way of Canada.

We used to be big. Used to be great. Used to be a democracy.

Canada was once free. We were free to assemble, speak our minds and practice our religion.

No more. We have descended into dictatorship, largely on the lunatic whims of the boomer class who don’t give a damn about the hardships of living in Canada for anyone under the age of 50.

As I write this on another August long weekend that brings some degree of relaxation and pleasure to millions of Canadians, I no longer no know if it is too late or not to save Canada from the mendacious, destructive Prime Minister Mark Carney and his Lie-beral Party.

I’m not sure if Canada hasn’t become a death cult that falsely celebrates unrestricted abortion on demand as a fundamental Constitutional freedom and celebrates assisted suicide as an “opportunity.”

Carney has destroyed freedom in Canada in just over a year of toxic governing. We came to the precipice of losing democracy under former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over almost a decade of increasingly catastrophic rule, but Trudeau didn’t quite reach the authoritarian objective that he had in mind. He managed to hallow-out Canada through his silly, woke policies and incompetent, corrupt government but I think the rot could have been arrested by a Conservative government under Pierre Poilievre.

Trudeau was never quite serious enough, not sufficiently crafty to finish the job of national suicide. Just as he spends his time globetrotting with current beau Katy Perry, acting with a perennial teenager or, perhaps more precisely, like a sybaritic young man with no desire for maturity, Trudeau lacked the intelligence and cunning to be a true dictator. He was too busy rocking at Taylor Swift concerts, where he distributed friendship bracelets to 12-year-olds. Whatever goodwill he enjoyed among a deluded Canadian populace that somehow viewed the boy monarch as sexy and youthful, had evaporated by the end of his tortured tenure in office. He was just a national joke.

Now it seems like he was just keeping the seat warm until Mark Carney could emerge from relative obscurity and be crowned as the new Liberal Party of Canada leader. Don’t fool yourself that he had to endure the vicissitudes of a leadership race. That contest was really between he and former Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, who couldn’t even win a majority of the votes in her own Toronto constituency. Carney literally took about 85% of the vote in every riding.

Carney quickly called a federal election for Apr.28, 2025 after that, winning a minority government that he has since transformed into a majority one by enticing members of the Opposition to join his ranks. He ran on an “elbows up” campaign of hostility towards the United States and enmity towards President Donald Trump. Carney promised Canadians that he understood “the real world” and would stare down the evil man in the Oval Office and secure a trade deal. He promised “Canada Strong” would be built with affordable housing from coast to coast. He promised a plethora of job-creating projects.

He quietly mentioned that he would continue Trudeau’s campaign against “misinformation.”

Well, Carney has delivered on the censorship and surveillance state that he alluded to but has utterly failed on every other front. The peripatetic Carney has devoured his time jet-setting around the world as an ambassador not for Canada but for his former company, Brookfield Asset Management, for whom he still appears to be acting as the chairman of the board. Wherever Carney travels, Brookfield is never far behind or is three steps ahead of him. The conflicts of interest that define this man are enormous yet he is unashamed of any of them. He runs what is arguably the most corrupt government in the history of Canada but continues to insist he is making better the lives of Canadians. He pivots from crass anti-American rhetoric to virtually kneeling before Donald Trump, who has essentially thrown the Canada US Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) into the wastebasket of trade history.

But Carney has certainly delivered on the censorship and surveillance file.

We already knew that freedom of assembly died in Canada when Trudeau, on the advice of Carney, invoked the Emergencies Act against the Freedom Convoy on Feb. 14, 2022. It was a peaceful protest that didn’t cause one broken window or occupied building. Ottawa never felt like a safer place than it did during those heady weeks of February, that combined the severe winter chill with a warm glow of freedom, knowing that we would soon be free of Covid mandates.

After the Trudeau regime crushed the truckers with the force of multiple police forces that literally smashed heads and brutally ended the protest, the sympathetic provincial government of Ontario faux conservative Premier Doug Ford legally persecuted the Convoy organizers, most notably Chris Barber and Tamara Lich, who were subject to the longest mischief trial in Canadian history before being convicted and sentenced to more than a year of house arrest.

But Ford isn’t finished yet. And if you ever doubted that Chris and Tamara are political prisoners of the Big Pharma state, aren’t you dumbfounded that Ford wants to retry the pair and again attempt to have them jailed for daring to disagree with his Covid narrative.

And don’t forget what happened to Katie Pasitney and Karen Espersen at Universal Ostrich Farms when the Liberal government through its ravenous Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) waged its war on agriculture and demonstrated that private property and real science don’t matter to Liberals on the quest for total control. Katie and Karen had their farm invaded, occupied and desecrated by the CFIA while over 300 heathy ostriches were massacred.

But it is Carney who has made Carneyda an authoritarian country. In July, we lost our freedom of speech when Bill C=9 received Royal Assent. Not only does the Combatting Hate Act criminalize any sections of the Bible, Koran and Talmud that defy the LGBTQ agenda, but it further compounds the ridiculous hate crimes legislation that has eroded freedom in Canada for decades and essentially makes hate speech anything the government or activist judges choose to make it. And now “hate symbols” are included in the law, which, like hate speech, can mean anything the authorities say. Is the cross a symbol of hate? To some people, yes. To this Carney government, most certainly.

Here’s a brief synopsis of this toxic legislation that I got from Google.

“Key Changes in the Law

• New Access Offences: Creates specific criminal offences punishable by up to 10 years in prison for intimidating or intentionally obstructing individuals from lawfully accessing places of worship, schools, daycares, senior residences, and cemeteries. [1, 2]

• Hate Crime Sentencing: Establishes a distinct sentencing enhancement for any offence motivated by hatred based on race, national/ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity/expression. [1]

• Prohibited Symbols: Bans the public display of symbols associated with terrorist entities listed under the Criminal Code, specific Nazi symbols (the Hakenkreuz and SS bolts), and the noose, with exceptions for journalism, education, and art. [1, 2]

• Definition and Defences: Adds a legal definition for “hatred” to the Criminal Code while modifying historical good-faith religious defences, leading to public debate regarding civil liberties and freedom of expression. [1, 2, 3]”

Literally within hours of C-9 becoming law, police were appearing on the doorsteps of people who had posted or broadcast items of interest on social media. I was actually talking about this possibility when a police officer showed up at my front door to question me about a “Stand on Guard” broadcast from April 2025!

Carney has also gone after freedom of religion. Trudeau imposed a heavy Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) regime on the Canadian military but there was just too much pushback when he mused about banning prayer from Canadian Armed Forces chaplains. So the plan was put on hold.

Carney has not been so squeamish.

On July 29, 2026 a military directive not only banned prayer a military events, it outlawed any mention of God.

The missive actually says: “Spiritual reflections do not use religious specific language, including references to God, etc. They reflect upon lessons learned, beliefs, values, and experiences to inspire gratitude, remembrance, hope, and integrity. These principles are grounded in a respect for freedom of conscience and religious expression, while upholding the dignity and value of diverse spiritual traditions.”

Here’s a portion of what Canada’s weak, woke, cowed, DEI-obsessed military released late last month.

There goes freedom of religion.

So, where are we in Canada today. We are positioned about where the Germany was in 1933 after the Nazi government of Chancellor Adolf Hitler passed the Enabling Act that effectively ended democracy in that country. Hitler and the Nazi Party took the reigns of power and continued to build a tyranny that ultimately controlled every aspect, every waking moment, of people’s lives.

And Hitler enjoyed a high level of popularity that only began to wane when Allied bombers had pulverized German cities into dust and defeat in the Second World War became obvious to even the most fanatical Nazi.

Most of those who welcomed the terror of Bolshevik tyranny in Russia thought Vladimir Lenis was inaugurating a workers’ paradise. No one incarcerated in a gulag a decade later would describe the Soviet Union in quite that way.

People lost their freedom quickly in Germany and Russia. In Canada, the march to dictatorship has been relatively slow and incremental. But ask people if this is the Canada that they remember growing up in or has this country changed beyond any of our expectations?

Funny thing, no matter how much of a failure Carney continues to be, no matter how much of a danger he is to our foundational freedoms, he continues to enjoy a level of popularity and support that is intensely mystifying.

He will continue on his demonic path and why shouldn’t he as long as so many Canadians are so stupid, so uninformed, so passive, so indolent and so inert that they won’t oppose him?

Resolve to resist today.

It might not be too late.

If you had told me during that February of 2022 when I was covering the Freedom Convoy protest for a couple of my US media outlets that Chris Barber and Tamara Lich would be serving house arrest four-and-a-half years later and preparing for ANOTHER trial, I would have said it couldn’t happen – not in Canada.

But this isn’t Canada anymore. I thought it was bad in the twilight years of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. But it’s gotten worse under his successor, Mark Carney. Censorship and corruption have intensified under Carney, who has failed to deliver on any of his promises of affordable housing and a trade deal with the US but has succeeded in putting the interests of Brookfield Asset Management above those of Canada and turning this country into a censorship and surveillance state.

And all the while, Carney has maintained a popularity, especially among older Canadians, that is profoundly inexplicable given his lack of success.

So was the Freedom Convoy the last gasp of a free Canada? Was it the last demonstration of the old Canada that believed in freedom and human dignity? I not only enjoyed writing about this seminal moment in Canadian history, I enjoyed the experience – the people, the dancing, the celebration, the exhilaration, the feeling that we were free again, if only for a moment. It was a transformational political experience for me as I was always an establishment conservative who had served in the Canadian Armed Forces, worked on Parliament Hill for MPs and written for mainstream media. But after the Freedom Convoy, I never trusted government again. I had gotten the Covid vaccine twice because I believed in following the rules and trusting the authorities to protect my safety. Hadn’t they done that while I served as an Air Force officer?

But I realized the social contract between the government and the people was a distant memory and the Freedom Convoy transformed me into a populist who no longer saw the elites as conserving democracy and preserving freedom but as undermining both.

I am privileged, indeed blessed, to call Chris Barber and Tamara Lich my friends, to know that I need only call them up and they will be available for an interview. They are two of the nicest people I know and also two of the most dedicated to the cause of freedom and the principle of liberty. Nothing on this earth will shut them down or their determination to fight for what is right.

William F. Buckley, Jr., who defined my political beliefs as a young man, once said that he would rather be governed by the first 100 names int the New York City phone book than by a similar number listed from the Harvard University faculty.

That’s populism.

That’s what the Freedom Convoy was all about and that’s what Chris and Tamara represent.

And I would rather be governed by the truckers who came out to save Canadian lives by scrapping the Covid mandates than any of the outstanding mediocrities who dominate Mark Carney’s cabinet and caucus.

But the political persecution for Chris and Tamara isn’t over yet. The Ontario Crown was never happy with the pair only getting house arrest when they were convicted of mischief in the longest trial of its kind in Canadian history. There should never have been a trial, never have been a conviction, never have been any sentence – but to go to jail for seven or eight years for peaceful protest? That was and is ridiculous.

Barber says the decision on whether the will be retried will only come after both have finished serving their current sentence. “We were given so given 12 months of 24 hour curfew at home, so that 24-hour curfew will end October 7th of 2026, and then we go on to a six-month curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. which means I have to be home every night at 10 p.m. Unless I’m trucking,” Barber notes, saying he has to report all of his time spent working to his probation officer.

“But then, it was just a week or so ago that the Crown announced … we’ll possibly have a trial date for a retrial, an appeal hearing with the three judge panel in the Appeals Court of Toronto, in the Spring of 2027. So we’ll [have] completed our sentence, and then we’ll face the possibility of a retrial,” Barber says, insisting that the Crown is determined to see the duo incarcerated.

“They asked for 10 years right off the bat, then they dropped it to eight. I’m assuming they’re going to ask for five now … You know, the process is the punishment,” Barber says.

“I spoke to a retired RCMP officer yesterday. I was parked in a little town in Saskatchewan, you know, for the night, and the door knocked, and it was a retired RCMP member, and he said, ‘You know, I got out of the force because of the reasons of why the system is just kind of corrupt.’. But he encouraged me to stand proud.”

But doesn’t this look like double jeopardy? “Well, you’re exactly right, and that’s one of the crazy things about this situation,” Tamara told me. “My sentence will be served January 21 st of 2027 … so my sentence will already be served before we even get to request leave to appeal. As you know, I am appealing my conviction. The crown prosecutor is appealing the acquittals on the two intimidation charges as well as my sentence. So you know, when all is said and done, let’s say, for example, let’s say they win, and there’s another trial. I mean, we’re still looking two-and-a-half years probably down the road before that could even happen,” she says.

“It’s frustrating for Chris and I; you know, we’ve been convicted. We’re serving our sentences. That’s fine. We’re being held accountable, appealing that decision, obviously. But we still have a federal government that illegally, unlawfully, and unconstitutionally invoked the Emergencies Act, and they have yet to be held accountable for their most egregious act against Canadian citizens.”

The Crown continues to play hardball with Chris and Tamara, treating them like they had committed the most egregious of crimes instead of merely demanding justice from the incompetent Trudeau government. Barber says the Crown has appointed Emily Marrocco to argue for a retrial. “She’s a Crown counsel for the Crown’s Law Office, and she’s normally a criminal lawyer and she specializes in the appeal process.”

“So usually Emily, she prosecutes a range of offenses, including homicides, human trafficking, firearms, drug trafficking, internet child exploitation, sexual violence, and youth criminal organization offenses … and I fit into this category allegedly. So does Tamara, where the government has to have a lawyer that usually prosecutes all those things that I just listed and now they’re going to drop down to the worst case of all – mischief.”

Tamara was just subject to a week of hostile media and social media bile for attending the US Ambassador’s Reception in Ottawa. Peter Hoekstra invited Lich as a “media personality.”

“There’s a lot of people that are big, big mad over my appearance there. But I mean, you need to understand that I cannot leave my house. I cannot walk off of my sidewalk at my residence without permission from my probation officer and Medicine Hat Community Corrections. Every single thing I do has to be completely documented from the route I’m taking to the flight I’m on to where I’m stopping for a bathroom break to where I’m going to stop and get fuel. Every single thing has to be 100% documented and approved,” she says.

Tamara doubts the Left is really concerned that she is somehow violating her house arrest by attending a reception in Ottawa. “The reason that they’re losing their minds so much is because I am not miserable, I am not broken, I am not suffering and I am not demoralized. I am just that kind of person that will make the most out of every situation. This is what it is … But it’s still quite funny to watch … the tolerant inclusive groups that are bullying me essentially.”

Barber says he longs for the Canada of his childhood and youth and not the one Trudeau and Carney have created.

He describes the loss of freedom in Canada like “a dog being chained to a tree and the government removes a link off the chain every day. The dog doesn’t realize that he’s slowly losing his freedom until it’s too late, and that’s exactly where we are right now. There’s maybe two feet of chain left, Canada and you’re you’re giving that up. Unfortunately, we need somebody to come in with a cutting torch and hack that chain in half and and let people live again because the government right now, they control every aspect of your life,” Barber notes.

“No, this is definitely not the Canada that we grew up in.”

Chris says if he and Tamara have to go on trial again, he hopes at least there will be more opportunity to hear from sympathetic witnesses who told them that the Freedom Convoy protest was a transcendental moment in Canadian history and that by fighting against Covid mandates, they saved the lives of countless Canadians – given that we now know the vax was neither safe nor effective and was actually toxic and responsible for the deaths of millions.

Including family members of mine.

The only witnesses heard at the trial were from the cloistered elite with high-end clothing stores in the Ottawa Market.

“Like you said earlier, you know the feelings of the people that were so hurt in downtown Ottawa, how dare these blue collar Canadians, these working class people come to our entitled city, and how dare they throw a protest that might inconvenience me? I mean, you listen to some of the testimony from, what, the seven citizens of Ottawa that testified. One guy’s complaint was he had to walk his child with skates on down a sidewalk to get to the rink because he couldn’t drive there. I had a car there. We rented a car, so it was easier to drive around in certain places, and you could access every part of the city. There wasn’t a gridlock like what legacy media government tries to make it seem like” says Chris.

Did the conviction and sentencing of Chris and Tamara, along with the brutal imposition of Trudeau and Carney’s Emergencies Act, provide a chill against protesting Liberal government policies?

“The government has done this to send a message to anyone else who has the audacity to stand up to the, you know, the rule of law in this country or the government. You look back at the dates. I hear the arguments on my social media feeds, and they’re like, “Well, the government was actually ending the mandates anyway, so you guys were pointless. No, they weren’t. You know, [former Public Safety Minister] Marco Mendicino was talking about interprovincial check stops and establishing them. The U the Canadian government, was in implementing the cross-border mandates for commercial vehicle drivers. They weren’t stopping with the mandates. That was a fallacy in people’s minds if they want to stop and think about it for two seconds. The government wasn’t stopping their control. All the other governments around the world were relaxing Covid mandates,” says Chris.

“If people took the time to research how many people are hurt right now, how many people are died? It’s unbelievable. The amount of sudden deaths right now in young Canadian adults is staggering. The amount of people with neurological diseases or issues right now that are are they don’t have they can’t work anymore. They are literally and the government. What are they doing? They’re trying to implement new programs to try and help them, but it’s a fight, no, no different than any other government fight. It’s sickening to see how this government continues to act with no accountability for what they did to Canadian citizens during the scandemic.”

Tamara agrees.

“You know, I think it absolutely has [sent a chill]. And I’ve had people, you know, come up and say that to me. There was a rally being held in Saskatchewan in Regina, and I was told this story about a woman and her friend that were on their way from Weyburn, Saskatchewan, to Regina to go to this rally, and they were stopped by the RCMP along the way and basically told, you know, you shouldn’t go there. You’re going to get ‘Chris and Tamerad.’ So I think there is definitely a chill out there. People are certainly, you know, afraid of having the heavy hand of the Canadian legal system thrust down upon them,” she says.

“But, but that said, there’s nothing to be afraid of, and I think that’s one of the things that angers them the most about Chris and I too. I mean, they don’t scare me. You know what we do? Put me in jail? Been there, done that. Like I got the T-shirt. So you know they have no power over me, and I mean, just because a judge can prevent me, you know, from moving around freely, that doesn’t grant me freedom. God gives me my freedom, so you know I don’t feel I don’t feel like I’m suffering. If that makes sense, there’s well, I just won’t let them. I just refuse to let them”

Both Chris and Tamara have remained staunch supporters of Katie Pasitney and Karen Espersen of Universal Ostrich Farms, who saw their property invade and occupied by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) before these government thugs slaughtered hundreds of healthy ostriches.

“We had the opportunity to go out to the ostrich farm a couple times last summer before we were sentenced. Katie and Karen are just such lovely people. They had a great gathering, a great group of people out there, you know, supporting them, obviously. And I supported them. And you’re absolutely right. I mean, regardless of how you feel about the avian bird flu and everything that was going on, you know, we can’t have government agencies completely taking over your property and telling you what you can’t do with your own land. I mean, then it’s not your land. So, you know, they’ve been through so much. They’ve been absolutely traumatized, and now to be told that they can’t even clean up their own farm eight months later is absolutely ridiculous. The CFIA is not going to come in and do anything. But imagine if the roles were reversed. If you went and made a mess at the CFIA, you’re going to have to clean it up, or you’re going to get charged or fined or what have you. So I mean, the hypocrisy, the double standards, the two -ier system. It’s not very democratic,” says Tamara.

“I can’t believe what happened to Katie and her family in BC over the CFIA’s actions there. That was thuggery. That was 1930s German death squad activity ish. Imagine to be those officers standing on top of those bales, shooting down into you know living beings with 20-two caliber rifles. It’s sickening to see the power that the CFIA has in this country. It’s disgusting to to watch their actions, and especially the RCMP that were behind them and the enforcement on that farm, and exactly what the family went through and continues to go through today, … And now if they go to clean up the mess the CFIA made, they’re going to get fined again,” says Chris.

“This country is authoritarian, disgusting. I’m going to leave my language right there because I don’t think I’ve been so more irked in my life than I have been witnessing the CFIA do the the draconian measures that they did to Katie and her family last year. That was absolutely appalling and disgusting. And if you’re supporting a government agency acting like the CFIA did, you’re just as bad as they are when you can’t open your eyes and see what’s going on around you,” he continues.

Tamara is supporting Alberta independence largely because she says Canada has deserted the values that it once possessed.

“So you know, we’ve sort of reached a precipice where our values are not aligned. You know, most Albertans don’t agree with MAiD [Medical Assistance in Dying], or at least with how they’re.-- I’m not going to say forcing MAiD on people, but they’re definitely pressuring. There’s people that have been pressured for MAiD, and you’ve had some of them on your show, from veterans to vaccine injured to somebody with a you know a sore leg. So I mean, those aren’t our values. We’re not aligned anymore. As you know. Alberta’s sort of moving away from all the DEI nonsense …. So it’s more than money. It’s more than a pipeline. It has to do with our values and you know how we want to raise our families and the kind of world we want our children and our grandchildren to live in, and Canada just right now is it’s a clown show. It is an absolute clown show,” she says.

Tamara can’t resist castigating the cast of characters who populate the cabinet of Mark Carney. “We have all these liberal ministers in there that don’t have a hot clue what they’re doing, from Melanie Joly to Evan Solomon. Like, tell me what Evan Solomon knows about computing and AI. I’ll tell you nothing … ”

“Our values are not the same. Canada used to be a country that cared for its most vulnerable people, from our senior citizens to our war veterans to anyone, our sick, our terminally ill, and now they’re just being, you know, well, you know, you can have this glorious, this glorious death, and they try to make it sound like it’s so lovely and wonderful.”

Would you believe that Universal Ostrich Farms is still under quarantine eight months after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) left it looking like a warzone?

It’s true. And there is still no end in sight.

The lives of Katie Pasitney and Karen Espersen were changed forever during the night that stretched from Nov. 6 to 7. After weeks of their farm being first invaded and occupied by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the mother and daughter had learned that the Supreme Court would not hear their case to save their beloved ostriches from a completely unnecessary “cull” – as the killers in their Hazmat suits called it, insisting the birds were in the throes of avian influenza. The CFIA moved in as darkness fell over Universal Ostrich Farms in Edgewood, BC. The so-called “marksmen” shot at the birds all night long and into the early morning hours of the next day, killing hundreds, maybe 300 – it was never determined how many birds were actually killed on site and how many had already been spirited away, dead or alive, during multiple periods of weird activity in the wee small hours of the morning.

On that grisly, terrible morning, some of the ostriches were still alive, writhing in pain and clinging to life. The killers finished them off with a bullet to their heads.

And that should tell you a lot about just how sick and awful this experience was.

It was the most traumatic experience of Katie’s and Karen’s lives – and probably also for the dozens of supporters who had gathered on the site and decided to remain to show their undying loyalty to the farm and these courageous women. The CFIA’s massacre was so reckless that it endangered the lives of those who chose to stay. The shooters expended their rifle shells in every direction in what was termed a “kill pen.” But just as the CFIA goons had been careless and cruel throughout their occupation of the farm, they weren’t exactly prudent in their firing. But, by the time the sun rose in the morning, there were lifeless birds lying all around the pen where they had once frolicked and danced and delighted not just the owners but thousands of visitors to the farm.

Katie was left not just distraught but emotionally decapitated. She could barely function as fall became winter and Christmas arrived. The family was not and still is not allowed to clean up the disaster that the CFIA left behind them, spent shell casings all over the yard, blood-soaked hay, garbage left behind. I did some interviews with Katie and encouraged her and her mom to sue the CFIA and the Liberal government. But the day came when Katie just didn’t want to talk anymore. She had endured the merciless online assaults of hate groups and morons who were convinced Katie and her mom had somehow pulled off an elaborate con; that they had really wanted things to end up like this, even if that end was financially and emotionally catastrophic. They decided to participate in a CBC fifth estate documentary called “The Ostrich Con” that was one of the most vicious and atrocious pieces of journalistic excesses in Canadian history. It is insufficiently accurate to say the “documentary” was a hit job. It was an exercise in myopic, tendentious, politically-motivated reporting that never asked any of the real questions that had always been pertinent to the ostrich farm calamity.

Such as why the CFIA had never tested the birds for the H5N1 avian influenza that had provoked the cull order in the beginning. The birds had obviously developed herd immunity and were healthy

Instead, the CBC came for the family, just as the CFIA had come for the ostriches. It was a monstrous example of character assassination.

Well, this week, Katie came back. I spoke with her for the first time in months and we were joined by an old friend, former Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Gerry Ritz, who has been outstandingly supportive of Katie and her mom while being both a knowledgeable and severe critic of the CFIA’s “thuggery” as he consistently called the bad behavior of this off-the-rails government agency. It is perhaps unnecessary to say that Ritz doesn’t have to get involved in politics anymore; that’s he’s fought the good fight and served Canada. But Gerry can’t help himself because he’s a good man who cares about people and especially about farmers.

Here’s the result of our recent conversation.

It’s so nice to have Katie back.

But believe it or not, the farm is still in quarantine and will be so for an indefinite time. Maybe forever. But probably not if we can continue to fight this para-military squad with the same intensity and dedication that Katie and Karen have exhibited.

I asked Katie why the CFIA was continuing to stop the cleanup at the farm and threatening to charge anyone who dared ignore their edict. Anyone who does eventually volunteer to assist in carting away the CFIA’s mess will have to register.

The official reason for keeping the farm under quarantine is because these are “fallow days,” meaning the temperature is above four degrees Celsius.

Of course, it’s all just more rubbish from a government agency that dispenses mendacity and trash – both real and verbal – at an alarming rate.

“They have not been on our farm since they left. There has been no more testing. I guess it could bring us all back to the scientific question, when we were begging for the ostriches to be tested to use science over speculation, especially if we’re handling such a severe virus and something that could be a potential risk to humanity. Why aren’t we testing the soil? Why are we not testing the straw out in the field? Why haven’t they been back on site to test the water to see what is happening with the evolving virus? Is it already destroyed by weather? Is there any more virus left? Why are we going off speculatory old data of 180 fallow days?” Katie asks.

She isn’t expecting any answers even they’ve “found live ammunition in this straw. We don’t know how much live ammunition is under it, and there’s so much potential hazard and risk sitting out there yet. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency just walked away from it.”

Pasitney says the farm’s supporters are not keen on surrendering their personal information to the CFIA, especially since some are farmers and therefore subject to the vicious whims of this out of control government agency.

“A lot of people said, ‘No way.’ I mean, here we have just a bunch of Good Samaritans that want to see this trauma put behind us, so that we continue to move forward, and we can create, hopefully, some hope and change, and come up with better policies that are going to affect Canadians in a more positive way and they’re being – it’s almost a threat, right? It’s just like the facial recognition or retinal scanning, or it’s all … invasive,” Katie continues.

“We have to understand, as Canadians, that this — when your animals are destroyed and the damage is done — doesn’t just end in our fields and it doesn’t end in our barns, and it doesn’t end in our pastures. It follows into our homes … it follows into our children who’ve watched your family break and lose everything and then it just doesn’t stop with their children. It follows into my children. It’s a generational pain. It’s a generational trauma that is created every time we do this and the generations that are watching this are learning not to trust our government; they’re learning not to trust our RCMP,” she observes.

“We need to come together as Canadians, united, and we have to find a better way. How do we protect our country? How do we protect our agricultural sector? How do we stop this from being a generational curse?”

Katie reveals that despite the land supposedly still being unfit for farming, the CFIA just walked away and didn’t start paying attention again until Katie and her mom talked about cleaning up the warzone. Mark Kelly, primary journalist for the CBC’s “fifth estate” and that program’s hatchet job on the farm — that really has to be seen to be believed because it is so toxic and mean — came to the farm and just walked around the supposedly contaminated kill pen like he was inspecting a local park. That reminded me of how the CFIA officers did not bother to wear Hazmat suits for days after their occupation of the farm. How strange. But if you’re in on the big lie then you don’t even have to bother to look like you’re taking any of this very seriously.

“It wasn’t until they saw that we were going to start to clean it up and expose that there’s live ammunition and expose the pain once again, [that] it was going to come to light that they piped up and said, “Oh, no, no, no, no, no, you can’t touch it. There’re fallow days that have to be followed above four degrees Celsius.”

Gerry Ritz finds it all ridiculous but pretty much typical for today’s CFIA, an organization he used to command as the minister responsible.

“The old adage, ‘[adding] insult to injury,’ pops to mind, but doesn’t begin to cover the egregious behavior of these CFIA thugs,” he says. “You know, the whole mandate of CFIA is one based on science. It is to support food safety and trade corridors, so that our products can still go … domestically and internationally. They’ve gone way beyond that with what they’ve done here. I can’t, for the life of me, understand the powers that would be allowing this to happen. We’ve got a rogue element within CFIA. There’s still some really good people there.”

Ritz used to work with the current president of the CFIA, Dr. Harpreet Kochhar, and he promises to Katie to contact him and ask him what he thinks of what has happened and what is still happening at Universal Ostrich Farms.

“I mean, I found him to be a very thoughtful, science-based gentleman and I’m more than happy to contact him on your behalf and see just where his thoughts are on this. He really would respond to me. He should, being a former minister, and as a former friend, I would like to think he would. I do have his contacts, but I wanted to check with you first, Katie, before I went that route at the end of the day,” Ritz offers.

“CFIA is all about containment. They’ve done more than that here. And what I can’t understand is these fallow days don’t mean squat, as far as I’m concerned. I mean, there’s migratory birds, there’s animals coming through that all the time. That’s not containment. What you guys wanted to do was clean up that and actually extend that containment, so that the soil was cleansed, and they’re not allowing you to do that. That, to me, is the lack of science. It’s the antithesis of science. This is a cover-up. It continues to be just that,” Gerry insists, remembering how the CFIA claimed to “deep bury” all of the ostriches but really brought a truckload to Surrey and “rotted on the spot,” which, Ritz says continues “to destroy the credibility of the CFIA.”

Katie and Karen held up the CFIA’s lack of credibility for the world to see by meticulously documenting the cruelty and medical incompetence demonstrated by the agents who used to enjoy lassoing the ostriches and tormenting them.

“Everyone in Canada should wake up and look at what happened at our farm, and if that can happen at our farm, I think the question needs to be, ‘Are you next?’ Who’s next? And how is this going to affect the future of Canadians and our families? I am still shocked. Yeah, we are still fighting,” Katie says.

And, at long last, “There is going to be a lawsuit. This, it’s very important. It’s taken a lot of time, because … we’ve been in a healing bubble … but every day is just so consumed with this, this feeling of that nobody got [charged], says Katie. She says she continues to get messages from supporters and well-wishers who ask, “You’re still fighting, right?”

“I think we just need to come up with a solution. I really want to see us all come forward with a solution that’s going to be a better way, that’s going to have an agency that’s going to have more to answer to, to have accountability. There’s the accountability word; but we need an agency that has to answer to the people that they’re supposed to be serving and this has been a very long, wild ride,” Katie reveals.

Gerry is convinced that the CFIA could well come up with another excuse to keep the farm under quarantine once they run out of fallow days. “But if they’re even concerned about containment of this virulent virus, they would have cleaned it up themselves. In fact, that’s part of their original mandate. If they take over a farm, they do the cleanup, and I haven’t seen that happen here. They didn’t take care of the ostriches … everything was beyond the pale, and you know, nobody forgets, and nor should we.”

We get to the fifth estate piece. Katie says the title itself – “The Ostrich Con” provided every indication that this “documentary” was going to be a cruel, ad hominem, character assassination.

“The only con that was happening here was the Canadian Food Inspection Agency blindly trying to blindfold the public, saying ‘This is a virus, this is a virus.’ So we were not the con. The con, [in] the title was, I think, it was one of the worst things. Just felt like a punch to the gut.”

Katie says what made it even worse is that there are still a lot of Canadians who really believe the CBC produces reputable journalism and is not just state media for their favorite Liberal governments that continue to dispense $1.5 billion a year to keep the operation going.

“When they came, they were coming to actually just interview the hate group in Edgewood that had been created, they were never going to interview us, and then at the very last minute he said, ‘With or without you, this is going out,’ because my mom and I were not going to put our face up to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.”

“We weren’t going to put our faces to it, we said absolutely not, but then we just said ‘No, we have nothing to hide, we have everything to show, and we’re going to answer the hard questions and we’re going to come on, and we’re going to — yeah — we’ll answer our questions.”

“So, to see how it ended up turning out was really, really sad,” says Katie, remarking that Mark Kelly had the unmitigated nerve to ask her if she was embarrassed for reaching out to sympathetic Americans like Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. “And I said, ‘Well, if our country would have listened, and we would have had any true leadership that would have taken the time to understand what we were trying to fight for, I wouldn’t have had to go out of country,’ and the only reason I went out of country was because I was involving one of our largest trading partners, who they kept saying it had to do a trade.”

I reminded Katie how we used to talk in the aftermath of the tragedy and plan for the creation of a group that would fight for farmers. Katie would be “a voice for farmers. I remembered how the last time Katie, Gerry and I were on my broadcast together, Gerry had called Katie “our Joan of Arc.”

“And I said that’s that was so beautiful, and I said it was just so touching, and I think it’s just so appropriate, and I know you’ve been through - I won’t say literal hell, but the next worst thing to it in the last six months and it’s been a terrible time for you and I know there have been times you just haven’t been able to talk, and you haven’t been able to do interviews, and I totally understand that.”

I asked Katie if she thought there might be “a time when you can enter the ring again, be our Joan of Arc, fight for farmers, be that voice that you have been such an articulate voice for all during this time … Whenever you do an interview, you always get the point across in a way that few others that I know, certainly in the agricultural sector, do as well as you do. So, I hope and I pray you’re able to get involved,” I said.

Katie accepted the compliment, or more accurately, acknowledged the truth.

“I never asked for this position when I decided to stand by my mom’s side last year. It was about protecting our family, and it very quickly evolved into something more. And I’m proud to say to kids and people who’ve reached out to me and said, you and your mom are heroes for saying no and just taking the fight on at the afterwards, it was like hitting a brick wall … because for over 300 days we were just on a mission, taking every phone call, every interview, to make sure that we could get … the message across to all Canadians and people across the world, that we could unite people, and that the ostriches were not going to die in vain,” says Katie.

“I am back. I’m ready to speak more about this. There’re great opportunities coming,” she says.

“They’ve tried their damnedest to push you down, but they will never ever push you out,” Gerry interjects.

“Nope, they will not. Thanks, Jerry, and my mom too. If you have never met such a warrior, and that’s where I got it from, my mom; she is a force to be reckoned with. She is still at home. She’s caring for my dad on top of all of this, and so we’ve just — we’ve both just been kind of bouncing off each other, but we’re both ready to get back in the ring.”

And as resistance leader Victor Lazlo says to a resurgent Rick Blaine in the immortal film Casablanca, “Welcome back to the fight.”

I first listened to the wisdom of Col. (Ret.) Douglas Macgregor when he was a regular guest on Tucker Carlson’s last show on Fox News. Macgregor had a completely different analysis of the war in Ukraine: insisting the war did not start in 2022 when Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine but years earlier when Ukraine began killing ethnic Russians in the Donbass region; stating that Ukraine could not become another member of NATO given its geographic proximity and historic relationship to Russia; and arguing that the Russian armed forces were quite capable of winning this war and did not constitute an incompetent military formation.

By that I was sick of listening to the propaganda, talking points and patent absurdity of Gen. (Ret.) Jack Keane, who was Fox News’ regular go-to military expert. It was – and is – difficult to take Keane seriously, despite his credentials as a former vice chief of staff of the US Army. Keane was an advocate of forever wars whether he was in or out of uniform and he has advised presidents to keep those wars going. People at this rank level may leave the military but they never stray far from the Military Industrial Complex that President Dwight Eisenhower famously – or perhaps infamously – described in this last public address as president to the American people in 1961. Ike did not become enmeshed in the sinister synchronicity between the military and industry but most retired generals routinely do. They join the boards of directors of companies like Boeing and Raytheon, heavily invest in the armaments industry and make a lot of money. Obviously, the best way to keep the cash flowing and maintain the value of the stocks in these companies is to constantly keep the US at war or preparing for war.

That’s why these clowns are hired as talking heads and military experts by cable news: to maintain a status quo that works very well for the elites.

What separates Macgregor from these paid political generals is his personal honesty, obvious integrity and enormous sense of history. Macgregor does not assess the present in a vacuum but with a thorough comprehension of where America and the world has been for the last century and beyond. Whether he’s talking about the US Civil War or the implementation of the Marshall Plan, Macgregor knows how we got from then to now.

He is a decorated veteran, has taught at West Point and was a senior advisor to the last defense secretary in President Donald Trump’s first term of office.

I always enjoy my conversations with Doug and this is an excerpt from my last interview with him.

I asked Col. Macgregor if he thought there was any hope of enforcing the current peace treaty with Iran.

“I would say the following: President Trump’s decision to sign that memorandum and begin negotiations with Iran demonstrated his business sense, if you will. He, I think, concluded privately that this wasn’t going to work, this military operation and he didn’t want to reinforce failure. So, I think that has to be said. On the other hand, does President Trump fully grasp that the United States has lost its war to subjugate Iran, and does he understand that he tried to do it with air and naval power, which together almost never work and did he understand that the mission to wrest control of the Strait of Hormuz from Iran unnecessarily exposed the limits of American military power? These are limits that were until now effectively concealed from the public, and I think the answer to those questions are no, no, and no,” Macgregor says.

“I don’t think he gets it yet, and I think that’s a huge problem, because I don’t think he understands he is not in a position to dictate anything. Iran has unambiguously triumphed in this conflict. Iran dominates the Gulf, and we can’t change that now. I suppose someone out there will say, well, if we nuke them, blah blah blah, but that’s a very stupid remark. And my last personal experience with him made it very clear, President Trump does not want anything to do with nuclear weapons under any circumstances and certainly does not want to use them; so I think he just has to come to grips with that now,” Macgregor continues.

Doug suggested “the other problem” that Trump is experiencing are his “obligations” to the “billionaire Zionists who funded him, who have helped to enrich him since he came back to the White House.”

Macgregor wonders why Trump left the White House in 2021 with he and his family poorer after the experience but they certainly appear to have been enriched during the second go around.

He believes Trump’s backers feverishly wanted a war with Iran as a payback during his second term and he has somewhat reluctantly complied.

“He did not do that the first time he had an opportunity during his first four years, because he didn’t want it. He really never did. He made that pretty clear to me privately. This is not somebody who wants war with anybody, and least of all with Iran, but this time around he had no choice. And as you recollect, we did not initiate the war, we followed the Israelis down the path to war. They were the first ones that struck against Iran, and then we went and followed after them.”

Macgregor unapologetically says the US lost the war with Iran because “we didn’t have the capability to overcome Iran’s defense” but only entered the war because Israel insisted. “For Israel, this is existential. Israel embarked on a campaign of mass murder and expulsion in Gaza. It has now extended that campaign into Lebanon, and the Israeli plan was for us to do the same thing, effectively, to Iran. We knew we could never kill all of those people, but we could certainly destroy the country. That’s what Israel thought and that’s what they wanted us to do. We were supposed to do to Iran what the goal was to do to Russia, that is, cause it disintegrate, cause it to break up, to fragment into smaller pieces that could then be kept in a state of almost constant chaos, and then fully exploited and raped.”

He says that was what was intended for Russia but that “has failed miserably in Ukraine … but the notion that you’re going to get an agreement that the Israelis are going to respect or honor or support is absurd, because Israel’s in a position now where it must either win or face potential extinction, or I would say almost certain extinction. That means you’ve got to kill everybody in Lebanon, effectively finish the job in Gaza, and get us back into the war in Iran, if they cannot do those things, Israel’s finished.”

The retired colonel notes that Israel is extremely vulnerable to a nuclear bomb because of the size of its country. It simply cannot contain a nuclear blast without risking complete annihilation. The diminutive size of Israel has become an argument for the expansion of Israel and that’s the root of the Great Israel Project that seems to be embraced by so many members of Congress who have been bought and paid for by the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). “I don’t think we can fix that, but I don’t think that President Trump, even if he wanted to, could persuade Congress to completely cut off the Israelis [from military aid].”

Macgregor is seriously concerned about the life and safety of the president. He says the Israeli-controlled media outlets are “feeding in material to attack anybody that doesn’t unconditionally support whatever the Israelis want to do; so yes, Trump is under attack by those people. They have enough money and enough influence and enough people that they could threaten the life of the president of the United States. Now, are they doing that? I don’t know. I don’t have any access to intelligence that would suggest that, and that’s a question that you’d have to ask people in the Secret Service, who would probably have some answers for you. They may not be truthful with you and give you the answers, but they might know. But it’s just my gut feeling. I mean, this man, there are a few people who have tried to kill him on more than one occasion, correct?”

Even though the war with Iran has been transformational, perhaps ending the age of the aircraft as relatively cheap missiles and drones can take these enormously expensive weapons out of service, Macgregor thinks that lesson may have been lost on America’s military leadership.

“You have two problems. One is something we call presentism, and that is where whatever happens, it’s new, you try to persuade everybody that what you’ve already got on hand is really the answer after all, and this really doesn’t change much. So that’s problem number one. Problem number two is you don’t understand at all, and as a result, you take the position, ‘Well, we’re the best, we’re the biggest, there’s nobody that can challenge us and until somebody uses it against us and proves it. I’m not changing anything.’”

Doug agreed with me that the US doesn’t need an empire and probably never did; that empire ran contrary to everything the United States was supposed to be about and slowly eroded America’s principals and economic freedom.

“So you’re absolutely right, this business of empire is a disaster. We don’t want to be in any of these places. Then came the Cold War that became an excuse to stay all over the world, and it became a business, and all you have to do is walk around London. I’m sure you have something similar in Ottawa, or, or, you know, Paris, or Washington. Look at all these think tanks. What are they all about? All the Atlantic Council, NATO … the friends of NATO, and God knows what else.”

“But I would change the word empire to a different word. It’s not the end of an American empire, because that’s effectively gone. It’s the end of American military hegemony. That’s over, and that’s very important, because first of all, it’s bankrupting us, we don’t need it. Okay, you don’t need global military hegemony to defend your country, that’s nonsense. And then secondly, it’s provoked the rest of the world, you know, we have enemies all over the world now, there’s only one country in the world that is more widely hated and despised than us – Israel.”

Is there any silver lining to this? Doug points to public opinion in America and says there might be. “If you look at the latest polling data right now, the war in the Persian Gulf is even less popular than the Vietnam War was – stop and think about that, that means below 32% support in the population. He has the popular support of the American people to say that’s it, we’re out, we’re going home. Has anybody ever gone back and revisited Vietnam and said, ‘You know, we made a big mistake, we should have stayed longer.’ No, only idiots, only fools. We had no business ever being there to begin with.”

Macgregor continues to believe the war in Ukraine needs to be wrapped up as quickly as possible because of the ongoing potential for the conflict spiraling out of control and because of the sheer carnage in loss of life it has caused. Interestingly, he notes that Ukrainian-Canadians have been instrumental in Canada’s continued support for the war. He is completely correct here. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress is a powerful political organization that has demanded Canada send tens of billions of dollars to Ukraine and continue fanning the flames of the fantasy that Ukraine is ultimately going to win the war. Both Liberals and Conservatives in Canada are afraid of the Ukrainian vote turning against their parties. But Prime Minister Mark Carney has other reasons for passionately insisting Canada continue dispensing money to the corrupt government in Kyiv. As usual, Brookfield Asset Management has its tentacles deeply embedded in Ukraine through the provision of nuclear energy to reactors there and the company is third in line to benefit from the “reconstruction” of Ukraine if the Russians don’t decide otherwise.

Macgregor returns to one of his most familiar themes: mass migration.

“The problem with Donald Trump is that he has bungled badly the whole problem with migration. I really hate that word, migration, because it’s wrong. We were simply invaded by millions of people, and that was by design. Anybody, preferably, who is not a European, was herded through the openings in the, in the border, herded through airports and dumped in the country. They were viewed by the left as future voters that could always be counted on to vote against white people, and the left in the United States has become very racist and very anti-white, and you’ve had now at least a generation or more of people that have been taught in school that everything that our predecessors did … to build civilization, and and the real empire, which is North America, was evil and wrong … ”

“So that’s one problem. So we’re not as far along as they are in Britain, but we’re on a similar path now.” That’s why Macgregor believes “the two-party system is dead … The same billionaires really control most of what happens in both parties. They were formally very supportive of Biden, and the only reason they walked away from Biden is that they extracted a promise, and that promise was to go to war with Iran.”

“I just don’t see anybody on the horizon yet is going to be any better, and I think that’s what you’re going to see in England. I don’t see any evidence that this new gentleman is going to go in there and radically change anything.”

Macregor observes that some believe a changing of the guard in the UK will salvage things.

One commentator even said, “Rome is saved.”

“People are so pathetic,” Macgregor notes.

But maybe they can begin to believe again. Certainly Douglas Macgregor is a vital part of that process.
